I believe so

but I don’t want to set the bar to high. Beside when the reach the ECF the media will finally see the Cavs as more then one Superstar and junk.

I usually like Hollinger but I think he’s off-base here, I just can’t see 4 teams finishing with better records in the East. He’s vastly overrating the Pistons.

I think the Cavs are much better playoff squad than a regular season team.

The offensive weaknesses make them more vulnerable against sides like Charlotte than most of the other contenders are. But the great defense/rebounding and LeBron James makes them incredibly difficult to knock off in a best of 7 series, and gives them a good chance against anyone.

My pick is 50 wins and I can easily see that being 4th/5th in the East …. I wouldn’t get tied up in where they rank in the regular season, once the playoffs start they’ll show everyone the titan they truly are. Their regular season win total will be a bad predictor of the team’s title chances.

Hollinger mentions exactly the same thing. He says they aren’t a great regular season team, but in the playoffs LeBron can play almost the whole game, which makes them a better team. I could definately see them finishing 4th again then making a big run in the playoffs like two years ago.

I think that they will get better throughout the year as Mo Williams gets more involved and Hickson learns the pro game. Hopefully his minutes will increase and he can take time away from Wallace. Plus, like Hollinger said, they might be able to do something at the trading deadline with Wally’s expiring contract.

I’m really looking forward to this season.
