Big Z Returns To Practice

The Cavaliers have played inspired basketball over the past 10 days or so but they would really like to get their big man in the middle back.  The wish is one step closer to becoming reality as Zydrunas Ilgauskas returned to the practice floor for the first time since December 30th.

"We did fastbreak drills, a lot of shooting, two or three defensive drills, four-on-four and some conditioning drills,'' Ilgauskas said. "It wasn't a hard practice, but it was enough.''

Coach Mike Brown was thrilled to have Ilgauskas back but said there was no timetable yet for his return. Ilgauskas said he'd like to return Thursday at Orlando against All-Star Dwight Howard. He also said he expected to regain his starting spot when he is ready to play.

Obviously, the Cavaliers should be able to handle the Sacramento Kings tomorrow night at The Q so Thursday would make a lot of sense.  This rest should help the big man stay fresh for the playoffs as well.
