I'm baaaack! and beating down your doors with this sledgehammer of a question..."should the Cavs consider trading big Z & Delonte for Stephen Jackson & Ronny Turiaf? " ok and now get this (cause this is the real homerun swing), send Capn Jack and Danny Green to the Jazz for Boozer!!!???

what do you guys think about that trade? do you think its a possibility after they pick up Antonio Daniels?

sg - Parker        Gibson/Daniels/Karl

sf - Lebron        Moon/Powe

pf - Boozer        Verajao/Hickson/Jackson/Powe

c - Shaq             Turiaf/Verajao

The Cavs aren’t going to completely overhaul the team after two games.

by Buckeye Brad on Oct 29, 2009 3:19 PM CDT reply actions

No overhaul needed- but they do need to SHOOT/SCORE

watched 1st 2 games- too much standing around; and then hurried shots. The Z/West for Jackson/Turiaf was exactly what I was thinking! I would really like Z to have a ring, and retire as a lifelong Cav! But- boy has he lost his shot; and is looking lost out there. Maybe the whole teams’ in a funk- but they look better when the push; in spite of the 2 big slow guys out there.
Is a trade possible? Of would it just cause more upon more chemistry issues? Last year everyone on the team, from #1 to #15 looked like they wanted to be there. THis year- no one looks happy.

first off, please try reading a few of the other posts on this site before rehashing the same ol’ same ol’

The Z to the Warriors trade was discussed in two other posts already.

The deal for Jackson and Turiaf makes sense on the surface, but I can’t see the Cavs dealing Z at all. He was the face of the Cavs before LeBron got here, and LeBron truly likes him around. Z, I believe wants to retire as a Cav.

Secondly, that Jackson contract is slightly outrageous. That deal goes for another 4 years. I don’t think Ferry wants to be tied to Jackson for 4 more years.

As for trading for Boozer? No way that schmuck ever dons a Cavs uniform again. He bailed on a handshake deal before and most Cavs fans will never forgive him for that and I am not LeBron would either. I don’t think the Cavs give up on Hickson or Green this soon in their development. Not yet anyways.

As for the slow start, yeah it sucks, but the schedule makers did us no favors with 4 games in 5 days right out of the chute and most of the team at one point or another missed the preseason with injuries/flu. They will need time to gel together. If this continues for a few more weeks, then we can start panicking. Patience please.

You are crazy if you think they would disrespect Z and trade him after 16 years. He will retire in Cleveland. I can’t grasp the concept of trading for someone that left for money. We didn’t want to pay him then why would we pay him now? With 2010 FA pool coming up, why would we do this? I like the moves Ferry made. Two games into the season shouldn’t make ANYone freak out!! We have Lebron James! The guys that are around him will be better on this team then any where else. That’s what Lebron does, makes others better.

this is the NBA, if you cant produce you need to be moved

thanks for the years Z, but I believe the millions of dollars in the bank is thanks enough for your service

Im the poor man's corey maggette!!!

You don’t think Z produces? They WILL NOT move Z,and Lebron probably won’t let it happen either. Don’t forget, Lebron told Z “I will get you a ring!!”

by The naome40 on Oct 30, 2009 11:45 AM CDT reply actions

I agree it is time to move Z

I love the guy but if we can get S. Jackson for him it would be very foolish on our part not to do that deal. The thing is Z is in the last year of his deal so there is a chance he could be bought out and then return to the Cavs which would be great. I am not sure Z has much left however because his jump shoot seems to be gone and he is a huge liability on the defensive side of things as a 4 when Shaq is in the game.

Do it Ferry and do it now.

Let’s think about this. S. Jackson is their main guy. The face, if you will, of the team. Main scorer. Why in the world would they trade their “Lebron” for Z and Delonte? West is not the guy to put games on the line with. Z can’t create his own shot by no means. If you were the GM would you trade Jackson for Z and West? Absolutely not!! For some reason everyone soesn’t think Z produces. So why trade for someone that doesn’t produce?

Hey

I doubt this would happen but if GS is that stupid we should do it. Secondly, I have never seen where D. West was included.

just an FYI, but the title of this post explicitly says Z and Delonte for Jackson and Turiaf

by talonk on Nov 3, 2009 5:10 PM CST up reply actions

I seriously doubt any other team would take Delonte right now.

People are always beating the dead horse in “Z will retire a Cav” sentimentality et al. He can always ask to be bought out, sheesh. Remember McDyess? I think this was for the Iverson deal where he got traded to Denver, he asked to be bought out and went back to Detroit right (Sorry, real bad memory, head injury)?

by Lex L. on Oct 31, 2009 6:21 PM CDT reply actions

You are correct about McDyess

but a team doesn’t HAVE to buy someone out. Plus, what the Warriors are saying (publicly at least) is that they want a return for Jax, not just to dump his salary. This would mean that they are currently not likely to trade Jax for a player like Z, who not only is an inferior talent on his last leg, but also wants no part of a rebuilding project.

If the Cavs could somehow make the trade of Jax for Z happen (with a handshake deal that Z will take a buyout and return after 30-day waiting period), then of course they should do that. It should also be noted than I don’t give a flying F about Gilbert’s wallet and currently, he doesn’t seem to either.

COOL!

so may comments, i think you guys are all spot on!
yet i feel like Z is on his last breath and needs to depart
i know everyone wants the movie finish but realisticly
Z would understand that its only for the better of the team!
and i have no idea why some of you think that GS would not take Z
when they are the ones asking for him!!!!!!
