THE REALISTIC 3 WAY TRADE for the cavs

Here is THE REALISTIC 3 WAY TRADE in order for the cavs to actually come back with something good from their expiring contracts. No breakdown or personal thoughts necessary as its pretty obvious why each team would do this (I can explain more if requested).

Suns get

Wally S. and his $13 mil expiring

Eric Snow’s 7 mil expiring contract

Branden Wright

Cavs get

Corey Maggette

Warriors get

Amare Stoudamire

DONT FORGET TO RECOMMEND THIS POST IF YOU THINK THE CAVS SHOULD DO THIS...

So the Suns are going to give up Amare Stoudamire for Brandon Wright and Wally Szczerbiak? Are you kidding me? Why the heck would they do that?

I agree, the Suns (or more specifically Kerr) believe that they still have a chance at putting a run together. The subtraction of Stoudamire and addition of Szczerbiak doesn’t get a team closer to winning a championship. As diluted as that dream can be in Phoenix at this point.

Who the heck is Branden Wright? Did you mean Lorenzen Wright?

Am not sure how this deal works ….

Suns get
Wally S. and his [2008-$13M]
Eric Snow’s [2008-$7.31M]
Lorenzen Wright [2008-$1.262M]

Cavs get
Corey Maggette [2008-$8.275M, 2009-$8.937M, 2010-$9.6M, 2011-$10.262M, 2012-$10.924M]

Warriors get
Amare Stoudamire [2008 – $15.07M, 2009-$16.378M, 2010-$17.686M player option]

Why do the Cavs have to give up $21.5M in cap space to pick up only $8.3M back? Don’t they only have to match the cap space back to the Suns —$15M? Also, the Cavs are going to get insurance relief on most of Snow’s contract, so I don’t see it getting moved.

Ferry does not want to tie up salary that far into the future. But if he does this, Andy is definitelty not resigning with the Cavs in the offseason.

The trade will break on Sunday.

Cavs get Amare. Suns get JJ, Wally, and the first round pick. The terms have been agreed to and the deal is being finalized.

Wow that would be awesome

We would crush the Celtics with that trade. Amare is not a great defender but he will improve with us. Imagine Lebron passing into the post to Amare then Amare kicks it back out to a drving Lebron or Boobie setting up for a three.

I don’t see it breaking on Sunday. There is no way that Stern allows that out while the All-Star game is going on, let alone with the game in Phoenix. I honestly don’t think it happens, but if it does, I can’t imagine it being announced today.

This was totally my bad. I was told that Ferry and Kerr had a handshake agreement on those terms, and it was meant to go down some time after the All-Star game. This guy is in the Cavs organization (think more waterboy rather than GM), but he also tipped me to the trade last year so I figured he was good to go. Obviously, something went wrong somewhere.

Glad you can admit it.

i’m not trying to be as much of jerk as this is going to sound like…but you realize this is one of the worst trade ideas ever, right?

Whenever someone uses a qualifying statement like that, you know what follows is going to be bad…
