NBA takes away LeBron's triple double in NY
The NBA today took away LeBron's triple double against the Knicks, in which he scored 52 points, by lowering his rebounding total to 9. They ruled that a late rebound credited to him should have been given to Ben Wallace. I remember that play; when the ball came off the rim Ben tipped the ball to LeBron. I wasn't sure who they would credit the rebound to because Ben never really had control of the ball. This rebound has been the talk of many bloggers and sports radio hosts. The article says the NBA often checks game tape for statistical errors but this is the most high-profile change in recent memory.
This will definately be something else to get the Cavs team, and the fans, riled up about after Mo Williams' snub from the All-Star team. This may have been the correct call but you know the fans will be upset about this move by the league, and it will definately give LeBron more motivation (as if he needs that).

OK, pardon my french, but this pisses me off. What a bunch of bullshit… I have never seen a league display such outright disrespect for a specific team. Fuck you, David Stern.

Even with the change, his performance > Kobe’s performance

Was it a legit change, Yes.
Was it Stern being an Ass of course.
When was the last time you have seen the league change a stat after the fact.

Just read that they took away a quadruple double from Olajuwon in the 90’s. The problem is that, there is no way to objectively look at stats. What has constituted an assist in the past may not be given to someone today.
