Game #58 - Cleveland Cavaliers @ ATL Hawks

The Cavs roadie continues through the Dirty South, as they invade Hotlanta tonight to square off against Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, and Al Horford. They looked great against San Antonio after looking wretched at Houston. The action is on ESPN.

Will the game be followed by news of a big acquired through the mid-level exception?

Let's game thread the heck outta this thing.

Good shooting start so far for the Cavs, but Smith’s athleticism has proved hard for them to handle.

No problem. Since no one else has commented, feel free to scrap it and go with an “official” one on the front page.

With the Celtics and Lakers losing today, a win tonight would help the #1 Seed overall cause.

DET is doing good work for the Cavs lately.

Should they buy out The Answer?

Cool “24 Second with Mo Williams” spot, where he said he modeled his game after Gary “The Glove” Payton.

I’m glad to see Flip Murray getting some run — I like how he played for the Cavs after that one trade deadline.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 7:45 PM CST reply actions

Was it on the ESPN broadcast? I am watching FSN

The M Williams – Glove thing? Yeah, ESPN.

The Big Man the Cavs added

is J.J. Hickson. Mike Brown remember this morning that J.J. was still on the roster and decided to see if the kid had game.

by Hardcore Legend on Mar 1, 2009 7:52 PM CST reply actions

He’s been active today, for sure.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 8:03 PM CST up reply actions

Love how

well J.J is playing let him play the rest of the season and lets see how he works out.

He looks good, but I wouldn’t mind someone a little more seasoned, as well.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 8:03 PM CST up reply actions

The sooner

we season J.J the better we will be. Now is the time to do it with Boston losing K.G and Ben Wallace out for us.

Good half for the Cavs.

Spike Lee’s NYY hate with all the pennants is crazy ugly.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 8:15 PM CST reply actions

The game vs the Celtics on Friday is a big deal

Celtics fans (cough*ESPN*cough) will have to face the reality that the Cavs beat the Celts two times in a row if we can pull it off again this week.

Plus, the two game lead over the Celts in the East is huge.

by Hardcore Legend on Mar 1, 2009 8:26 PM CST reply actions

Delonte has lost his confidence in his jumper

he’s pump faking and driving on 3 out of every 4 Three-Point attempts. It kills the offensive flow of the team, him passing up open jumpers in the corner.

Atlanta ice-cold to start the 3rd quarter.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 8:42 PM CST reply actions

I know there are two bald, African-American head coaches named Mike in this game, but do you really think that Mike Brown was the one arguing for a “clear path to the basket” foul there?

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 8:48 PM CST reply actions

8-0 run

and hardly any touches for Lebron. This is what drives me nuts about Mike Brown. The other team is on a run and we don’t get our best player the ball for 5 straight possessions.

by Hardcore Legend on Mar 1, 2009 8:49 PM CST reply actions

The Joe Smith news is aweomse to hear. He’ll provide some much needed depth and scoring for the bench.

ATL is on a 17-5, and we have two possessions in a row where Hickson and Andy shoot jumpers?!?!

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 9:00 PM CST reply actions

Oh, and no timeouts taken by Brown.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 9:00 PM CST up reply actions

How about some help…..Why let Flip Murray go one-on-one with Daniel Gibson…

Daniel

Can man to man with Flip normally but he just hasn’t been the same player this year. I hope he can find it before and during the playoffs.

Cavs aren’t taking anything to the tin.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 9:17 PM CST reply actions

Mike Brown gets his head out of his azz several minutes too late.

by JulioBernazard on Mar 1, 2009 9:19 PM CST reply actions

Awful, awful, awful. The Hawks go to a zone and the Cavs hoist jumpers….Then, to make it worse, there is NO DEFENSE. That is more worrisome.

I wish Lebron would have confidence enough

to trust his jumper as time expires. I usually hate it when he settles for jumpers but late like that, it’s better to take the last shot with no time left. Screw tip ins, man up and win the game.
