Cavaliers reach an agreement with Joe Smith
The Cavaliers are about to get some much needed frontcourt depth.
Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Cavaliers have come to an agreement on a one-year contract with F Joe Smith. Smith will sign the contract tomorrow morning when he clears waivers --
"After careful consideration of his options, Joe has decided that the Cavs are the best fit," Smith's agent, Dan Fegan, said.
Smith was contacted by several teams after getting a buyout from the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. He averaged 6.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 39 games with the Thunder this season. He played 27 games plus the playoffs with the Cavs last season.
Smith has had plenty of rest lately, and should be good to go for the Cavaliers stretch run.

Hooray for this. Smith was fantastic in last year’s run. Best of all, no PJ Brown in Boston to match his jumpers.
Many posts on the Keltics blog
lamenting that Danny Anige panicked and signed Mikey Moore instead of Joe. Love it!
Oh The People You Meet When Your Out of Ammo.........
Did they have to sign Mikki to make sure they had enough dough for Steph?

Not sure about that………Word was Joe might have signed with Boston and some say he actually perferred Beantown over the Cavs. Some say Boston should have waited until after the deadline before signing either Moore and/or Starburst and with KG out , they panicked. IMO, Smith is a much better pick-up than Moore and he’s ours now! Score one for the hometeam!

Joe Auto is a great cat to add for the stretch run...
Sorry to see him go, but he wasn’t going to be in OKC next season anyway, so I’m happy they released him so he can chase a title, and we can get some of our young guys more playing time down the stretch.
The guy is automatic from the either side near the top of the key.
WELCOME TO LOUD CITY!
