Question....

As you guys might know I am a Laker fan. I just wanted to ask you Cavs fan Two questions. They are questions that us (Non-Cavs) fans really want to know inside but just dont ask them because we dont know any Cavs fans.

1. How do you guys feel about all the Hype LeBron gets. He is a great player, does amazing things but its just unbelievable how much the media (Sportscenter) does to promote whatever he does. Everything he does good is better than everyone else, and anything he does bad is no big deal. I know what you thinking Kobe gets just as much hype so why are you complaining, Wrong Kobe doesnt get half the media coverage LeBron does. Please tell me what you think about the Hype.

2. Us non-Cavs fans really hate all the things the Cavs do, they pound their chests, have little handshakes they do, they take fake pictures of each other, they play air guitar, they talk so much smack its not even funny. They make Boston look like a quite team. It perfectly fine to cheer on your team but you guys push it to the limit.

P.S.- How can you guys compare LeBron to Kobe? LeBron has 0 rings in his first 6 or 7 years in the NBA, Kobe had 3. Greatness is measured in rings and "The Chosen One" as he calls himself has none.

I don’t see a question in #2.

Kobe was teamed with a first-ballot Hall of Famer during his title runs, probably one of the ten best Cs in history. Kobe’s team looked pretty bad trying to win a Finals without Shaq last year.

LeBron is a better passer and rebounder than Kobe. Even Jerry West feels that LeBron is the better player.

But what do you think your not Jerry West right? How can LeBron be better if he has no rings?

by Mr. Laker on May 28, 2009 5:51 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Because one man can’t win a championship in a team sport. And until this year, the Cavs were basically LeBron surrounded by a bunch of role players. Put LeBron on those Laker teams with Shaq, and Iit’s likely he’d have won the rings too. Counting rings is a bad measure, and it’s a crutch that people use in arguments. There are plenty of legit arguments for Kobe being better than LeBron, but this is not one of them.

Right one man couldn’t win it, then why do you guys continuously give all the credit to Shaq for winning those rings? He was also just “one man” and one man cant win a ring by himself.

No doubt, but look at it this way, which of these is better:

Kobe + Shaq
just LeBron

Two dominant future HOFers are better than one.

66 wins in the regular season. What happened did someone disappear you guys have the same players, why cant you repeat you regular season performance? In my opinion you guys just cant beat good teams consistently…

Don’t feed the troll. That’s nothing but invective disguised as questions. Move on.

I am on here with educated questions. I am not here to pick on you guys for a slump, i still believe you can win this series. Dont make assumptions based on your anger for this series.

by Mr. Laker on May 28, 2009 6:15 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’m not that angry about the series. I am angry about people coming on a Cavs site and being blatantly antagonistic. Don’t be so disingenuous as to claim you weren’t.

1) A question laden with bias, rhetoric and the death of the English language about media hype.

2) A rant hidden amongst poor grammar. There is no question there at all.

The postscript is nothing more than the usual talk radio tripe about rings somehow meaning one player is better than another. They don’t and no one who is well informed actually believes that.

So please, move on.

There is nothing educated about these questions/statements.

Us non-Cavs fans really hate all the things the Cavs do

That’s inflammatory.

This should be the last comment in what should become a locked thread.

1) We’re sick to death of it, because he’s just not that good. He’s a media creation, really. The only reason he gets so much attention is because he’s from the sports media capital of the world and we win title after title. We’d rather have Chris Mills back.

2) Couldn’t agree more. Watching players have fun without disrespecting other teams is painful. We’d prefer they weave baskets for their opponents, but we haven’t gotten through to them yet.

PS – Kobe is obviously better. He averages more assists, rebounds, and has a better shooting percentage. He behaves perfectly in public and private. And for all the haters who say he only won rings because of Shaq, I’m pretty sure he answered that criticism by carrying the Lakers to a sweep over Boston last year, right?
