Pistons decide to fire Michael Curry
That certainly didn't last long. I guess it wasn't Dumars' fault that he traded away a great team player for an incredibly selfish one.

I just saw this on ESPN. J.A. Adande was talking and he thinks the Pistons want to hire a “proven winner” like Avery Johnson or Mark Jackson. I thought the Pistons were going to enter a rebuilding mold and retool their roster for the future, not look to contend right away. Do they really think they can challenge the Cavs, Celtics, and Magic in the East? Although they do have plenty of salary cap space, so maybe if they get a guy like Boozer and someone else they can contend with the Cavs again, but I don’t see it.
It was be a question of how much can they really retool. To challenge the top teams, they’re going to need a superstar. They aren’t going to be picking at the very top of the draft, they still have too much talent, so rule that out. They have to try to use their trade assets and cap space to get a Stoudemire or Bosh.
not sure how mark jackson qualifies as a “winner” from a coaching perspective. i would be pissed if i’m michael curry and jackson gets the job.
on the other hand, if this team is working things out and looking to grow back into a contender over the next couple of years, then jackson may be the guy to guide them…let him mature as the team matures.
