"Anderson Varejao has officially informed the Cavs that he will be a free agent at midnight. No surprise, we'll see how it goes this time."

I’m guessing he gets some decent offers. It will be intersting to see if the Cavs bring him back or if they are going to sign another PF and go with Hickson, who was promising as a young rookie, as the backup.

Personally, I prefer they sign someone else to start and have Hickson back him up.

Yeah, a lot of people are forgetting about Hickson. I think he can be a good player off the bench next year if he’s healthy. I’m worried about the report of his continued back problems, but hopefully that will be healed by the time training camp starts.

Also, Marc Stein is reporting today that the Pistons may go hard after Villenueva and they can offer more money that the Cavs, so we’ll have to see what happens there. If he does sign with Detroit then the Cavs absolutely need to resign Varejao.

If Rasheed Wallace signs with the Cavs
