I voted “hate it” in the poll, as I mentioned in Monday’s edition of Fear the Links. Just curious what the reason for the change was?

Maybe it’s not necessarily that I was in love with the old logo, but that the new one doesn’t really seem exciting enough. The swords don’t even look intimidating! ;)

Another quick note, I think the poll should’ve had a third option — “like it, but liked the old one better”. People who vote “like it” might still prefer the old one. Sorry if I seem like a pest ;)

I really came to like the old one.
If you are done with it can I have the file?

so, the detroit reporter is saying that LeBron made a mistake when he only signed the 3 year extension b/c of the state of today’s economy…said differently, he made a mistake in not predicting the greatest economic collapse in a century? that’s where we’re criticizing LeBron now? sheesh.

Windhorst also has this article in the PD yesterday about the Cavs’ interest in free agent forward Rob Kurz. Kurz is a 6’9" forward who played with Golden State last year and shot 40% from three-point range. He’s playing in the summer leagues right now with the Wolves and might interest the Cavs as a big man who can shoot. The article also says that Christian Eyenga has looked impressive the past two games in the summer league, shooting 11-19 from the floor.

For more links, here’s another article about Eyenga’s play this summer from Bob Finnan at the News-Herald. The thought was that the Cavs would let him play in Spain another year or two before bringing him to the NBA but he’s looked good in summer league play so Finnan thinks they Cavs might find room for him on the 15-man roster and possibly send him to the D-League to get more action this year. He needs to learn the English language to be able to communicate with the team because that’s been his biggest hindrance so far.

I think there’s too much orange in the logo. The basketball makes sense, but this isn’t the ’80’s and I think the color orange should not be in the “Sword” font. I’d suggest either making it gold, or keeping all the font in wine/maroon.

The new logo is kind of a mess. I don’t like the font for “Sword” at all.

Really.
Looks like an ad more appropriate for Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.

With 60% hating the new image, is there any chance it will be changed back and/or we’ll see a different logo?

New Logo Lacking
This new logo is dull. The old sword looked menacing because it was moving. It also looked “Cavalier” like (whatever that is), although that aspect could be improved on.
