Lamar Odom???

Why cant the cavs try and sign Lamar odom? even if they cant offord his asking price cant they at least offer him an MLE??

LOS ANGELES (AP)—The Los Angeles Lakers have retracted an offer to Lamar Odom(notes), saying that talks to re-sign the free agent have stalled.

Lakers public relations director John Black said the team had taken the offer off the table in the past two days.

“There are specifics behind why we pulled it, but that’s not something we’re going to get into,” Black said.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lakers owner Jerry Buss had offered Odom two deals. One was worth $36 million for four years and the other was for $10 million a season for three years.

Odom, who will turn 30 in November, made $14.1 million this past season.

Black said talks with Odom’s agent Jeff Schwartz have been on and off.

“We haven’t heard from him in the past few days and talks have not been consistent,” Black said.

Odom played a key role off the bench in the Lakers’ championship run. He averaged 12.3 points and 9.1 rebounds during the playoffs.

He made $14M last year, did not accept offers of $9 and $10 per year for 4 and 3 years, respectively. Where you get an asking price of $7/year is beyond me, and really irrelevant since the Cavs won’t offer him that anyway.

there was supposed to be a 1 infront of the 7, his asking price was a lil less than 17mil!

We can only dream...

Starters:
O’Neal
Odom
LeBron
West
Mo

2nd Unit
Big Z
Andy
Hickson
Parker
Boobie ( if he gets it together this year)

This team might dominate.

So I told her," I'll be nicer if you try to be smarter!'..That was a mistake.

Not gonna happen, Cavs don’t have anywhere close to the money to sign Odom. This is a pipe dream.

we already used part of the MLE on parker…so even if odom were interested in taking the MLE, we couldn’t offer it

Right. Please note in the future that if you’re going to make a FanPost on this site then you’d better make sure you have your facts straight. Even if Odom would sign for the MLE, which is highly unlikely, the Cavs already used most of it when signing Parker. This isn’t going to happen.
