Cavs Beat Spurs 106-80; Lose Antawn Jamison

J.J. Hickson scored a game-best 18 points to go along with nine rebounds and Ramon Sessions filled the stat sheet with 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists, as Cleveland pounded San Antonio, 106-80, in preseason action.

Daniel Gibson added 13 points and six assists, while cult sensation Manny Harris chipped in 11 points and four rebounds for Cleveland, which has won four of five in the preseason and put on a show for the basketball-starved city of Pittsburgh.

The win was overshadowed by an injury to Cavaliers F Antawn Jamison who left in the first half with a knee injury.  The initial word is positive, however, with the injury not considered serious.  The Cavaliers also lost G Anthony Parker to a minor hand injury.

Gary Neal led a depleted Spurs roster with 10 points. Nearly all of San Antonio's projected rotation sat this game out. DeJuan Blair and Antonio McDyess, who both figure to log some minutes in the frontcourt, scored nine and eight points respectively, while Blair also grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists. Blair played his college ball at the University of Pittsburgh.

Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Richard Jefferson, Manu Ginobili and Matt Bonner did not play for the Spurs, as they trailed for most of the contest.

Manny continues to impress ( I now see him as a “Big 10 alum” which is easier to support then his actual former school)

Actually, we’ll be playing shorthanded all year, since we don’t really have a small forward or a true center.

next year draft

Does anyone know if there are any good center prospects in college going into the next season because this year we still have pretty good guards but were gonna get torn up in the paint this year. No offense to JJ or Wild thing, there awesome but gonna stand up to centers we have to face this year.
