Around SBN: What If This Is It For The Celtics? End Of An Era Looming

For the love of God, something needs to be done about our SGs/SFs

After last night, there is no excuse. Anthony Parker should be released. Today. 20 minutes and the guy played no defense (just standing under the hoop and watching Wade dunk without even touching him was disgusting to me), he was 1-4 with 3 points and he recorded no other stats aside from his 4 turnovers.

Garbage.

The Wad played his best game in weeks I guess in garbage time (a whopping 6 points and 5 rebounds in 19 minutes after the game was out of hand). Good for him and his Lebron-hugging ass...

But aside from that, we got NOTHING from those two positions. Jamario Moon and Joey Graham combined for 6 points in 28 minutes on 3/8 shooting along with 0 assists and 0 rebounds.

So if you're keeping score at home, THREE of our SGs and SFs (Graham, Parker, Moon) combined for 0 assists, 0 rebounds and shot 4/12 without even recording a FT attempt. Thanks for coming out guys.

Your hate knows no bounds sir. But seriously, what did you expect coming into this season? I can understand the lack of effort and intensity and being mad at that, but as for the production…
There are some good things to look for in this team. The guard play can be good, the post positions can be solid, and the coaching is sound.

College basketball just became more interesting...

I wanted him gone coming into the season. We’re ‘rebuilding’ and ‘young’ and yet we have the eighth-oldest team in the league. I’m just frustrated like everyone else. I know we’re going to lose, I’m fine with that. What I’m not fine with is a 35 year old who refuses to defend and thinks he is something he’s not hoisting up ill-advised shots, recording no rebounds or assists, turning it over and playing almost 30 minutes a game.

And we were stuck with that I guess after we made no moves whatsoever in FA. But the Cavs FO chose to resign Jawad instead of letting him walk. The Cavs FO chose to sign Manny Harris instead of Danny Green. The Cavs FO chose to give Anthony Parker a two-year deal instead of one.

They made their bed, and a lot of those moves could have been solved with sound judgment. That’s all. But we are who we are now…guess that’s the case until we finally blow it up for real.

Bah da da da da da da da, Go Deacs.

Parker has consistently pissed me off this year and last. I thought we had gotten rid of the greedy idiocy of Pavlovic, but was horrified to see what we replaced him with.

I got to sit really close to the floor when the cavs played in columbus preseason. I knew he heard me screaming, “pass the fucking ball Parker!” He has not changed and should be traded/humiliated.

The only reason Joe Thomas didn’t catch that ball was because the ball was too afraid to come near him.

Anthony Parker would be a great 3rd or second option

He should never start a NBA game. His defense is lackluster, he can’t score, he doesn’t do any thing to change or affect the game. He’s a guy that you bring in when you run a play and need a distraction. The Grizzlies have recently benched OJ Mayo With the right offer we maybe able to pry him away. Memphis needs a point guard if they want to be contenders they only have one on there roster I would offer up Mo williams and Anthony parker for O.J Mayo and a 2nd round pick

Parker

Bot do i agree 110%. He stinks ! Always chasing on D, 2-3 steps behind who he is defending. Doesnt do much of anything, but help cost the games. I thought Harris looked good when they Finally put him in vs timberwolves. He’s quick, defends, drives to the hoop & hustles into get rebounds. I’d have him playing 30min. not Parker.Only a few players are hustling on the team, Andy & Boobie show it the most. Theyre stuck on outside shooting which has been terrible lately. Nothing much in the paint tho, but how can you when they dont feed Andy the ball. Gotta at least try & establish a inside game. JJ thinks he’s some kind of superstar & cant hit jumpers. Coach needs to make a big lineup change, maybe then a few of those players will wake up. Samuels looked great too. Let the young guys play !
