I'm going to try to get them to do a buy-out, but I've already heard from a few teams -- good teams -- that are really interested in wanting to talk about Z going to play for them. That doesn't surprise me. He's still a very good player. He's a very interesting player who can still be a very good center in this league.
"I don't know exactly what's going to happen. I think his heart is in Cleveland, that's for sure. But we'll see how this plays out. He's got 30 days to make a decision if it's Cleveland. If it's somebody else, he could make it in a week. His whole decision will be based on what's best for his career. He'd like to win a championship, that's for sure. But it's his call, not mine. I'm just going to give him all the options.
Big Z's agent will seek quick buyout
While there is nothing official, it appears Denver and Dallas are two teams that could go after Ilgauskas if Washington buys out his contract.

If we win a championship without Z on the team, I will feel terrible. Seriously, absolutely awful.
Anyone who wouldn’t hasn’t been a Cavs fan long enough.
I was near tears reading that
I hope Big Z understands the Cavs traded his contract and not him. I’m sure they want him to return and I hope he knows he is a big key in them winning a NBA Championship this year.

lol. he’s not retarded. he knows what happened. if he didn’t read it in the papers or hear it on ESPN, his agent or ferry or his next door neighbor or, hell, LBJ filled him in. i’m sure that his agent warned him this would probably happen months ago.

We are also talking about a guy
that didn’t take getting DNP’d earlier this season very lightly.

I’m sure Danny Ferry talked to Z long before the cavs offered him in any trades. Like Krolik wrote in his little “the giving Z” poem, Z is just the kind of guy who would do even something like this to help the cavs. Big Z will be back, and he is going to raise a banner high into the rafters of the Q that says “World Champions”
"My signature is only one line. You're welcome."
Maybe
It might be best if Z went to a Western contender like the Nuggets or Houston. My thinking on this is he will have little playing time behind Shaq, etc., plus he could maybe help knock off if not burn out the Lakers before they get their usual ref’s good calls to make the Finals.
I just want to see the Lakers get their just desserts because of the favorable calls they always get. I believe last year the Nuggets should have been in vs the Cavs but were whistled out of the building by the refs.

my thing is this. i was just looking at the cavs roster and it looks incredible as of right now. but as it stands the roster is at 15. and i really want to see big z come back because he really deserves a championship in cleveland with lebron. so my question is who do you think the cavs will drop in order to re-sign big z?

Bye Darnell Jackson i guess. I would think they wouldn’t want to cut him outright maybe they are going to do a minor deal and get a backup center. But, if they don’t make another trade i would guess Jackson is gone.

Too bad that Darnell couldn’t have left in a trade…Like Jawad was, he’s stuck on the bench behind better players..I prefer to see Telfair go if they waive anyone..a player with his past off court baggage is not what the Cavs usually acquire. and I doubt he’ll be here once his contract expires
