Zydrunas Ilgauskas speaks for the first time
Zydrunas Ilgauskas tried to watch the Cavaliers game last night against the Nuggets, but just couldn't do it. Now he is on his way to do something else he is not looking forward to - putting on a #17 jersey for the Washington Wizards.
Ilgauskas spoke to the Cleveland Plain Dealer for the first time since his trade on Wednesday, and while he admits being angry, he isn't so angry he won't return - if Washington lets him.
Right now I'm a Wizard,'' he said. "I think eventually they'll let me go, but that's just my guess. They haven't told me anything yet. First I've got to go to Washington, and hopefully after a couple of days they'll let me go home."
Once Z does come home, what will the future hold?
"We'll figure things out. I'll do what's best for my family.''
Perhaps the best sign of what Z is thinking is how he speaks of the Cavaliers in the possessive. The Cavs are still his team.
"This is my team,'' he said. "I'm going to be mad, but not so mad that I wouldn't come back. I understand it's a business. This is my home. No matter what happens in the future, that will never change.

We do too, Z.
We’ll figure things out. I’ll do what’s best for my family.
Good.
Because that’s what the Cavs and their fans are…family. You’ll see that the day you come back and are announced last at the Q.
