Report - Zydrunas Ilgauskas will sign with the Cavaliers

A report first heard on WKNR this afternoon states that former Cleveland Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas with resign with the Cavs as early as tomorrow.

From PD Cavs' beat reporter Brian Windhorst's Twitter account;

WKNR 850 AM's Michael Reghi, who I will join in minutes, is reporting that Z has decided to re-sign with the Cavs.
Of course, it's been almost a foregone conclusion that Z would return, but as Cleveland fans we had to hold our breath.

As for the accuracy of this report?  Michael Reghi has never been one to push innuendo or rumor.  He is often the guy batting down unfounded stories on his show.  If Reg says it, I'm convinced he has the sources to back it up.

UPDATE - Ilgauskas' agent Herb Rudoy vehemently disputes the report saying there is no truth to it.  Ilgauskas won’t be making up his mind until well into next week, Rudoy said.

Smart move by Rudoy….Z can’t say he will or won’t sign anywhere until he formally clears waivers (a technicality as we all know) at 2 pm on Monday…THEN he is free to say whatever he wants about the matter without inviting the league to look into whether there was anything shady about the trade/buyout

yes its true, we all know it. but reghi is the one of the biggest blowhard, attention grabbers in the business. he made it up so he can see his name quoted.

best trade ever, only gave up the 32nd pick of 2010. finally Danny Ferry was part of a good trade… remember Ron Harper?

Now that the Cavs need D-Jaxx on the bench, who will be released if Z comes back? Telfair?

I think since Danny Green is still in the D league we might have that spot already.
