No Foul Play
More on Lebron's foul rate, from Basketball Prospectus. Basically its been blown out of the water, that or Luol Deng is more of a superstar than James.

His low foul rate
isn’t becuase of bias or great defense its because he’s a great help defender while only occasionally locking down for 1-1 defense. That and the Cavs as a team are great on defense. You don’t even need all of that regression stuff cuz its gonna assess causality where it shouldn’t be. Rebound rate has little to do with fouling. Steals as shown by her have a negative on the rate of fouls, but common sense tells you that the more you try to steal the more you would possibly be called for a foul. Stats are so dumb when trying to explain this stuff. Also, name 5 Sfs not named Anthony or Pierce or Wallace who require lockdown defense that would be able to put someone in foul trouble. That explains more than anything why he has a low foul rate. Is there some bias on foul calls on him? Yes but they’re discretionary calls usually that could’ve gone either way. Does he get away with murder when he drives? Yes, no one can stop you if they can’t touch you. Whoever started this argument is looking at the wrong angle. They made it impossible to defend this argument against stats
Hey, he’s providing an argument.. I may not necessarily agree, but I have no problem with that.
