LeBron James speaks after Cavaliers practice

I could tell you what LeBron James had to say after practice today, but why do that when you can listen for yourselves??

Mike Brown and Shaq after the jump as well....

So his Cleveland legacy all comes down to this...

Look, I’m not a big Cleveland guy, but I am a diehard NBA fan and a big LeBron supporter. We all know a lot’s riding on tomorrow night. Here are a few of the major side stories from SportsCasualties.

http://wp.me/pLvMp-w4

You guys gotta be nervous as hell, but I think Bron is a truly great player, and I fully expect him to do special things this weekend. Hope I’m right. Enjoy.

He’s going to do it for you tonight, Rocky. Ten years from now, we’re going to look back at the next month or so as the turning point for The King.

Watching those videos

Shaq gets it, Mike Brown and Lebron still think this is a regular season game and that they just lost a hard one to the freaking Pacers.

WAKE THE HELL UP AND ACT LIKE YOU CARE!

I noticed this too.

Their casual attitude just seems very off in a situation like this.

LBJ needs to take it to the hole more often instead of taking

jumpers….he needs to stop worrying about his elbow cause there is no tomorrow. I think he felt maybe his teammates would have a good night in game 5, so he tried to defer as much as he could, but he was wrong. Also, his elbow is becoming more pyschological now . I bet he is afraid of making it worse or maybe some big hit will render him out the rest of the playoffs, thus willing to lose a few games by being passive just to see if his team can get away with it.

by inquisitiveman on May 12, 2010 11:50 PM CDT reply actions

It’s very easy to say that LBJ needs to take it to the hole more often, but the Celtics are playing a defense that clogs the lane and gives him little room to drive. In addition, refereeing in the playoffs is different than the regular season, and they are allowing a lot more contact on the way to the bucket – it has clearly upset LBJ that he’s not getting the calls on the way to the hoop at the same rate as the regular season.

The bottom line is that something has to happen to get the Celtics out of their clog the lane defense and that something most likely has to be either him or his teammates hitting open jump shots or the Cavs stepping it up on ball movement. When the Cavs move the ball, they are hard to beat. When they lay back and let LBJ dribble, they are easy to defend, When they force the ball in to Shaq and he makes no attempt to get the inside/out the ball, they are easy to defend. If they move without the ball, they are hard to defend.

If the Celtics are allowed to continue to clog the lane and wait for LBJ to drive so they can mug him, they will win the game. It will rattle him and he will get tentative again, plus he’s not a good free throw shooter to begin with.

Lebron isn't getting rattled!

I agree with the part about ball movement and your basic premise but Lebron is a average ft shooter and doesn’t get rattled that my friend is way off.

He should start posting up then...and kick it

out if double. Right now, he is starting out at the top of the key and his teammates are just standing around watching. Williams should be distributing. LBJ shouldn’t be the point guard and i’ve noticed he seems to be the one setting up the play which is not right.

shaq is older and more mature now and just gets it. i am shaq’s age and i look back at when i was 25 yrs old like LeBron, and i was a complete clueless a-hole who knew nothing of adversity, mental toughness, etc. With age definitely comes wisdom.

by rockybrown on May 13, 2010 3:59 AM CDT reply actions

LeBron just doesnt get it. Not at all. Just not mature enough yet to beat this Celtics team at this point in his career.

by rockybrown on May 13, 2010 4:04 AM CDT reply actions

50 points in losses the last two home games. LeBron still is saying he let the game come to him, and didnt force it. not mature enough yet to beat this Celtics team.

We get it, you don’t think LeBron is mature, based on several dubious assumptions.

On LeBron driving to the rim

Assuming there is an elbow injury, which is llikely, it is highly possible that the long arm stretch necessary when laying the ball in or dunking is more painful than taking a jumper. You can shot a jump shot and not fully extend your arm, but not a layup.

Disclamer: I am a Magic fan; I am not a Lebron fan; it sucks that the Cleveland Curse seems to be still in effect.

The only way to stop LeBron is Smith and Wesson, but even that's a double team.

What about the magic curse?

Don’t forget what my Lakers did to you guys last year as it must have hurt to be out in 5 games…oh yeah, and i’m sorry we stole shaq from you which brought us 3 rings, my apologies…i just hope we don’t take Dwight next…the magic curse is surely a horrible thing!

I think Lebron believes he has a lot of time

He made a point to mention that he has a lot of time left, that his career has been short thus far, etc. This needs to change drastically! Lebron needs to realize that 1 is not enough. 1 ring will not cement anything. Neither will 2 or even 3 for that matter. Jordan got 6, Magic got 5, Kobe so far has 4 and perhaps looks the favorite to make it 5 this year. Lebron needs to get some fire and say that this is the freakin year!

Regardless of how hard the first title is, he needs to realize that the 2nd is even harder and the 3rd even harder than that. Not because of you, but because of your teammates. If the hunger is not there for the 1st, it will disappear for the 2nd, with the supporting cast. That’s why back to back is so difficult. That’s why the 3-peet lakers, despite having the 2 best players in the entire league, found it difficult. The supporting cast loses their hunger after the 1st ring and it is the job of the mega star to bring them along with his own hunger and desire.

Lebron is lacking this. Someone needs to have a talk with this kid NOW. It is time NOW. You don’t have as much time as you think. Don’t think Jordan did it so you can do it in the later years….Lebron needs to wake up to what is going on right this second before it is too late.

LeBron takes subtle jab at Mike Brown

“LeBron took just four shots in the first half, the above comments seem to indicate that Cavs coach Mike Brown didn’t have LeBron as a part of the gameplan in Tuesday night’s loss. LeBron made 4-of-13 shots. In the first half he almost exclusively passed the ball when the Celtics applied defensive pressure.”

http://www.digitalsportsdaily.com/nba/news/1052-lebron-takes-subtle-jab-at-coach-mike-brown.html

I wondered about just the above sentiments before Game 5 was even over.

Is it possible that LBJ doesn’t want Brown as a coach anymore after something he didn’t like was said, and Game 5’s performance was a passive protest? Seems plausible. I’ve ever seen him not care before.
