Mike Brown releases a statement, thanks Cavaliers
Whether you like Mike Brown or not, one thing I think we can all agree on is that Brown is 100% class. It should be no surprise that he remained that way even after his departure. Brown released the following statement today -
The past 5 years have been an exceptional experience. I have been very fortunate to lead a group of men who I respect and thoroughly enjoyed coaching on a daily basis. At the same time, I was able to work alongside a terrific coaching staff and with Danny Ferry and a basketball operations team, all of whom I have a profound respect for. We partnered in creating a culture and a standard that I am, and will continue to be, very proud of. None of which would be possible without the dedication and support of Dan Gilbert. I am thankful for the opportunity that he gave to me and my family. We have a deep appreciation for Northeast Ohio, the Cleveland Cavaliers organization, and the people in this community, and have enjoyed making this our home.
As a Cavaliers fan I wish Mike Brown and his family the best as they move on to his next NBA Home.

He was a good coach and I have no dislike for him.
I think it was time for the Cavs to upgrade to a coach who has a better offensive scheme. He was a great defensive coach though.
I wish him the best and I’m sure another team will want him.
While I was one of the people hoping for a different coach, my problem with Brown was never personal. He seems like a really good guy and I hope he gets another opportunity somewhere. I think he is the biggest reason Lebron is an elite first team defender. Brown helped him and the team become a force on the defensive end.
Now let’s make sure we get an upgrade over Brown, because if we don’t get anyone better firing him was useless.
As CLF pointed out
This is strictly business. To anyone saying they had a personal stake and/or vendetta against the former coach is foolish and should probably get a life. But let’s call a spade a spade: he was a defensive guru, but he was inept on the offensive side of the equation, which is unacceptable for a championship-chasing team.
He can be a great assistant coach, but definitely he lacks the repertoire to take head coaching duties. He should be satisfied with being a Tom Thibodeau, else head back to the video room.
O Hai Thar!
Celtics fan here (again :x)
I’d like to wish you guys good luck in the off-season. For your sake I hope this firing of Mike is going to work out for the best; however it always remains to be seen, since you don’t know who you’ll get in his place.
Good luck in both keeping LeBron and getting a new coach.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m actually going for the Celtics for the rest of the post season, and you guys were treated terribly by some of the worst refereeing i have ever seen in game 5. Good luck, because if our team can’t go all the way this season I hope it’s the team that beat us.

BUT COMON!! As much as I hate both the Celtics and Magic equally (the Lakers too if we are listing teams left in the playoffs). How awesome would it be to witness the first team in 93 attempts to come back from a 3-0 deficit and give Boston their second 3-0 series comeback loss in a season. Nothing to me could be more demoralizing and more fitting for a city such as Boston. Here’s to history!!
I'm pulling for the Celtics the rest of the way too.
I hate Pierce but I like Doc Rivers, Ray Allen and the way Rajon Rondo plays (he seems like a douche as a person though.)
I wouldn’t go for the Magic even if they were playing the lakers. I hated you beating us last season, i hated your off season moves, and while i like Dwight i can never cheer for that team for as long as i live. I physically feel good every time Vince Carter makes a mistake, a bad shot or a missed free throw.
