Tom Izzo To Remain at Michigan State

It has been officially announced that Tom Izzo is remaining with the Michigan State Spartans.

After meeting with his players earlier this evening following a day at his basketball camp, Izzo announced that he is staying in the college ranks, specifically with the Spartans, "...for life".

More updates will follow later this evening and/or tomorrow.

I think this is good, and I’m not surprised he’s staying at MSU. We need a coach with NBA experience imo.

I agree with you emily, I want someone accustomed to dealing with the egos.

The Cavs need to hire an ex-Marine commander, so that they yell “How high?” when he orders them to jump…

How do you (the Cavaliers fans) feel about Lebron's refusal to speak with Izzo?

Troll alert: I am a Wizards fan.
My take is that it is a tough situation for Lebron. He does not want to interfere with his options in free agency by talking to Izzo and potentially signaling that he is leaning towards resigning with Cleveland. However, if one theoretically accepts the proposition that Izzo was the best candidate for the job, did Lebron owe it to the organization to make this effort by speaking with Izzo to assist his team of seven years in having the best coaching situation (with or without Lebron) next season?
Although there is a lot of vitriol both ways between Washington and Cleveland, this Wizards fan wishes the Cavaliers the best and hopes Lebron resigns with Cleveland. It makes the league that much more exciting to have the strongest Cavaliers team possible, particularly in the event that a few years from now we are at the level where the rivalry can resume.
Good luck guys!

LeBron at this point in time cannot comment to Izzo or anyone as to whether he will stay or go, and he had his posse speak with Izzo…

At least Izzo realized that he would be an epic failure, (with or without LBJ) and knew that staying at MSU, where he can be worshiped by the locals, as the best way to address his need for attention and address his insecurity. Just look how he played he played his hand here. Over a week to decide in the most wishy washy manner. Will I stay or will I go? Gilbert should have given him 24 hours to make up his mind.

No guts…..no glory. Now, come on Gilbert! Quit dicking around. We need substance in a coach and not an ego maniac.

I'm Polish...what's your excuse?
