Random Thoughts & Thursday's impending Free Agent Frenzy

I know that everyone is talking about how LeBron James is going to be dazzled by a new team's scenario.

"Miami can sign three max-contract players in South Beach."

"Chicago gives you Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah & possibly two max-contract stars."

"New Jersey can give you Devin Harris, Brook Lopez, new drafted Derrick Favors & possibly two max-contract stars."

"Los Angeles (Clippers) can give you a collection of lottery picks and the glamorous L.A. scene."

"New York can offer you three max-contract stars this year and possibly one next year. Oh, and not to mention your own Television Channel."

"Cleveland can offer you...... a hometown environment and warm pat on the back."

Seriously, ESPN needs to find something better to talk about other than "news" being fueled by each franchise's insiders, Chris Broussard, or Ric Bucher. These two annoy me about as much as Skip Bayless or Stephen A. Smith. And that is really saying something because I hate those two. Skip bashes anything Ohio-related and Smith is just generally loud and obnoxious, but I digress.

Most of what you hear is relatively true. Each of these teams can offer these things, but each has to understand something. The bond between LeBron and Cleveland is epic. You have got to be able to pull him away from his home and the city that loves him. He could probably have the city renamed if he really wanted to. LeBronland has a nice ring to it.

LeBron's trials and tribulations through his career are ones that we collectively feel also. When he comes up limping after getting fouled hard during a thunderous dunk on a fast break, my leg hurts, too. When he loses, I get depressed.

We have so much more to offer than just a hometown feel. Cleveland can go after some talent this offseason. Oh, please believe it. Chris Bosh is attainable. You're kidding yourself if you think that he isn't. He has be rumored to want to go where LeBron goes. It makes sense. It's a killer frontcourt combination. Here is what I think Cleveland could offer to Toronto to get Chris Bosh and still work under the current CBA....

Toronto would get:

2011 1st round draft pick ($3 million value)

Delonte West ($4.6 million)

J.J. Hickson ($1.5 million)

Antawn Jamison ($13.3 million)

Cleveland would get:

Chris Bosh (max contract value)

It adds up to me. It's seems plausible. The salaries are close. Toronto gets a combination a veteran leadership (Jamison), salary cap relief (West if waived by August 5th can save $4.1 million), 2 cheap and developing talents (Hickson and the draft pick). Cleveland gets their superstar. Bosh gets the big maximum contract and gets to play with LeBron who will also be getting a maximum contract.

Cleveland still has pieces to move. Mo Williams is being rumored to be on the trading block. I got a message for this guy; "Learn to play some defense or leave!" It is honestly as simple as that. He cost us our playoff series with Boston because he could not stay in front of Rajon Rondo. Mo is a headcase. Portland has already been rumored to want him. So, send him there...

Portland gets:

Mo Williams ($9.3 million)

Cleveland's 2011 2nd Round pick ($2 million)

Cleveland gets:

Greg Oden ($6.8 million)

Juwan Howard ($4.5 million on sign-and-trade - We could move this again)

We also have the Mid-Level exception to use. Who's to say that we can't get a Ron Artest-type deal with Jeramine O'Neal. It's just a thought. I'm sure that guy is hungry for a title. He could give our team a whole new attitude. After all of this madness, here would be our line-up:

PG - Sebastian Telfair / Daniel Gibson / Danny Green

SG - Anthony Parker / Jamario Moon / Juwan Howard

SF - LeBron James / Jawad Williams / Christian Eyenga

PF - Chris Bosh / Anderson Varejao / Leon Powe

C - Jermaine O'Neal / Greg Oden / Sasha Kaun
