Cavaliers 'Close' To Acquiring Marvin Williams From Hawks

In a deal that has been talked about for days, the Cavaliers look to be on the verge of a sign-and-trade deal with the Atlanta Hawks involving Shaquille O`Neal and Marvin Williams.  The Cavs have had interest in Williams for some time - the connection being Cavaliers G.M. Chris Grant, who was in Atlanta when they drafted Williams.

Shaq has been looking around for a solid offer - starting above the mid-level exception - but so far has had no luck. A sign-and-trade is his best chance at a decent contract and the Hawks are a team trying to win now after signing Joe Johnson to a max-contract in the off-season.

Awesome stuff!!!

Good trade for both teams since Cavs need a good SF and the Hawks need a C to move Al Horford to the PF position.

Mo Williams Dan Gibson
Delonte West Anthony Parker
Marvin Williams Jamario Moon
Antwan Jamison
Anderson Varejao JJ Hickson

Seems like a great team to me as long as B. Scott can get them playing good defense.

awesome stuff

rather see moon replace Parker & dont forget Green. JJ can backup Jamison & jawad Williams to backup Marvin Williams. Like Andy starting, but need taller ,7’ for backup center. Think should give Telfar a shoot. Looked good the lil he played last year. Think he’d be more consistant than Mo, more rebounds & assists. Just my opinion but like to hear what others think of this lineup. GO CAVS !!

Awesome stuff

How about Kyrylo Fesenko for backup for Andy? free agent, 23yrs old, 7’1’ & 300 LB. Have to reserch him more, but went in second round last year.

Williams would make for an athletic front court and should be a good fit for Byron Scott’s “Princeton” offense. I’m for this one.

JJ wont be backing up anybody this year, and Scott is leaning towards Jamison off the bench.
