The New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks made their pitches to LeBron James yesterday in elaborate presentations designed to woo the Cavaliers' free-agent forward, but things are just getting started. Next in line are the Los Angeles Clippers and the Miami Heat, and Miami's Pat Riley fired his first salvo last night.
Ah, the backroom intrigues, the hints, nudges, winks of earnest people eager to come in and plunder.
