Around SBN: 2012 NBA All-Star Game Starters Announced

Maverick Carter, CEO of LRMR Marketing, said today that LeBron James will formally announce where he will play next season and beyond on "The Decision," which will air live on Thursday, July 8, at 9 pm ET on ESPN.

Due to the unprecedented attention and interest surrounding LeBron's decision, we have decided to make this announcement on national television. By doing so we have generated funds that will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. LeBron has a longstanding commitment to giving back to the community, and has worked with the Boys and Girls Clubs in cities across the country. For additional information and any other announcements concerning "The Decision," check with www.LebronJames.com.

Come on. This is America!

Nothing happens without people making money

I'm Polish...what's your excuse?

The money doesn't bother me

It’s the press conference that galls me.

looks good for you guys

I can’t think the he would want to ruin his fanbase by going on TV for an hour to announce he’s abandoning his hometown. Although that would make for some interesting reading.

going on TV for an hour to announce

I’m certain that LeBron going on TV for an hour was going to happen no matter what, stay or leaving.

Grain of salt, but Chad Ochocinco and Jared Dudley on Twitter claim Lebron is going to the Knicks via sources of their own.

ESPN would start crying tears of joy if that happened.

If Lebron is going to leave, this is the best case scenario. He will fail miserably in NY.

I'm pulling for you

With Bosh signing in Miami, I think that was the nail in the coffin for Lebron coming to Chicago. Just wouldn’t make sense for him to go there without Bosh (since the Bulls could technically pull it off).

So you guys are my pick. I like smaller market teams and really would hate him in New York or on a superteam in Miami.

I guess the one thing you guys should be confident about is that I can’t fathom he would go on national TV and disgrace the city. I know he’s an egomaniac, but I just have to believe that someone would tell him that’s a really bad idea if it was his plan. It’s one thing to say you’re leaving, have a heartfelt press conference and move on. It’s another to tease your hometown and then dump them in a tacky publicity stunt.

That’s what we’re all hoping for.

its still quite possible that bron stays home

i m a knicks fan so i hope otherwise..

but dont take this press conference as rubbing your faces’ in it. Doesnt cleve deserve a formal goodbye? would you rather repay your home town and give thanks for all the support thorugh a tweet or something?

And to add he is donating all proceeds to the b&g club. He isnt doing it for the face time either. They guy has been an absolute ghost to the media this entire FA signing period.

I think he is going to give respectable credit where credit is due, for the fans in Ohio.

Toney does what the douglas do. And no one can do what he does b/c doing it without being Toney Douglas just doesnt make it do what it do
