What to do now and how to make the playoffs by 2012

Im going to make this quick....I saw a fan post asking us what we would do if we were the GM and I  just thought I would share my thought

Feel free to comment, criticize, adjust or make any of your own moves

1. Sign Adam Morrison- he will come by cheap and if anyone saw him at gozanga- this dude can BALL! we have a big hole at the SF and adding a bench warmer who i personally think has the potential to be a solid double digit scorer and a solid player cant hurt us at all. Why not give him a chance!!

2. Sign Allen Iverson to a 1 year deal- this is not to be as a replacement for Lebron at all. This is just a matter of selling tickets and letting AI do what he wants to.

3. Hire the hornets GM as a Co- GM. This guy sucks at everything except for one thing : drafting. He overpays players, sucks at building a team around a star but he is good at drafting. And we need to build through next years draft if we want to rebuild quickly

4. Trade Mo Williams for Joel Pryzbilla and Jerryd Bayless and a 1st round pick

Pryzbilla is only there as a rental and a salary cap trade

however, Bayless is a really good scoring point guard and he can split min with Sessions and this will be a good young pair of PGs

5. Trade Antwan Jamison and Bobbie Gibson for Kenyon Martin and a pick- Jamison is a clear upgrade over Kmart and the nuggets want to do anything to keep Melo so the nuggets should have no problem accepting it. This will also bring us more under the cap in the 2011 offseason

6. Trade Anderson Varejao for Nazr Mohammed and a 1st round pick - The bobcats absolutely suck at drafting. If they realize this, they should have no problem giving this pick. Varejao is a obvious upgrade over Mo and MJ doesnt care about cap space. And with this trade, The bobcats are one step further to make the playoffs.

7. Tank the season for a chance to get harrison barnes

8. Trade the draft picks for a lottery  pick to draft Jared Sullinger

Pick up some top free agents

this could be our roster

sessions-bayless-

J rich- Jr Smith

Harrison Barnes- Jamario Moon

Jared Sullinger- JJ hickson

Samuel Dalembert- Tyson Chandler- Ryan hollins

Please Comment on better roster upgrades

Adam Morrison hasn't started a game in how long??

The reason is because he can’t defend abraham lincoln. yes, because he is dead. heard he had a good pull up jumper though.

Close. It only counts in Horseshoes, hand grenades and Penn State football.

Why didn’t you post this under that thread instead of spouting your moronic ideas on a new one?

C’mon, go a little bit easy on the guy.

Maybe I can’t, but I bet you I could find the right place to post my thoughts.

My point is that if you are answer a question posed in another Fan Post then you should keep the conversation in there. Making up new Fan Posts every time you want to reply to something is ridiculous and stupid. And it also leads people who follow this blog consistently that you actually have an original idea not some re hash of an old idea.

Your heart is in the right place … your post is not

how? There is no trade for him and I don’t believe he is THAT close to being a Free Agent.

move...

a.) Make Jamison play SF.

sign a big man backup. Hollins is much better at PF spot backing up Hickson. Amundson, Earl Barron is still available. Given the minutes, both proved to be solid providers.

Trade Mo + Anthony Parker + 2nd round pick to Philadelphia for Andre Iguodala.

Lineup

Sessions
Iguodala
Jamison
Hickson
Varejao

Gibson
Graham/Eyenga
Moon
Powe/Hollins/Samuels
Hollins/*Barron or *Amundson/Samuels

2 rosters spot open for deep end bench. SIgn a PG and another SF for vet. minimum.

I like the idea, but I dont think iguodalas contract fits into mgmt’s plans

Antawn Jamison can NOT play SF anymore.

I don’t see why people think he can.

He was absolutely torched by Kevin Garnett. If you can’t keep up with KG, how the hell can you defend players like Gerald Wallace, Melo, or any other quick SF?

Also, most of his damage last year was done in the post. Yeah, he can shoot a 3 off the catch. When he creates his own shot it’s in the post 9 times out of 10.

It's not that he couldn't defend KG...

He couldn’t defend anybody….

He is too slow to guard the SF position. We’ll find out when we play Miami. God, I hate saying that. It makes me sick.

He is too small for the PF position. He only creates a mismatch on the offensive end. He is the biggest asset as a trade chip.

I was using KG as an example.

I was saying that if you’re not quick enough to guard KG, how can you ever guard the 3?

But yeah, the dude sucks at defense.

contract is too big though...

it’ll be hard to find someone who will accept a 35 yr old guy with 2 years and 13mil each.

he can go off the bench behin Jamario Moon though. I think.

my prediction from a lakers fan

Cleveland gets the 8 seed and takes out LeBron and Heat in the first round. They do this bc they will play with SO much freaking intensity. it will be biggest upset in playoff history

Wishful thinking.

It’s highly unlikely.

one can only wish

Adam Morrison has more rings than Lebron, Bosh, and Wade combined?

I pretty much disagree with most of these moves doing anything positive. The only move I would do would possibly the Andy trade. I am not sold yet on sullinger so I think its waay too early to talk about trading for him. the FA signings are not that great either. I like Dalembert but thats it (and I don’t even think he is a FA). I don’t think Richardson, Smith, and Chandler are really steps in the right direction.

this is sarcastic right?

I have been complimented many times and they always embarrass me; I always feel that they have not said enough.

by notthatnoise on Aug 22, 2010 10:00 PM CDT reply actions

get Fernandez, injured Pryzbilla for Mo Williams and 1st round pick maybe...

Cleveland gets a legitimate 2 who can score, and Cavs can give him the playing time he need. And a solid big man albeit injured, but an expiring contract they can use for trade come february.

Portland gets their ever wanted 1st round pick. Gets a proven PG in Mo Williams and can use Jerryd Bayless and others as trade chips.

my opinon.

by Yoki R on Aug 23, 2010 3:59 AM CDT reply actions

though...

i dont think still will still be good enough to make a strong case, it might make the playoffs but probably and early 1st round exit.

by Yoki R on Aug 23, 2010 4:02 AM CDT up reply actions

No picks

Thats not a good deal for CLE if picks are included. Remember, your pick wont be thirty this year.

I think Joey Graham will surprise and maybe even start. As a nuggets fan I saw Joey in minutes far too limited. He is a very good player, athletic, durable, okay shooter, very good defender. He is your hustle guy, with a whole lot more. He does have a tendency to draw offensive fouls though. At denver stiffs we gave him the affectionate nickname of… the bulldozer. You guys got a real steal for a minimum pickup, and I hope you enjoy him.
