Delonte joins Shaq in Beantown, signs with Celtics

"Go West, young man...wait, belay that, go east instead." Delonte West, traded to Minnesota and then waived by the Timberwolves, has signed with the Boston Celtics, there to join former Cavs' teammate Shaquille O'Neal as the Celtics continue to add pieces to their puzzle on the fly.

West, who was originally signed by Boston as the 24th pick in the 2004 NBA draft and then traded to Seattle in the deal that brought Ray Allen to the Celtics three years ago, averaged 10.3 ppg for the Cavs in 150 regular season games, to go along with 3.6 assists per contest after being acquired from the Sonics in a three-team deal involving Cleveland, Seattle and Chicago in February, 2008.

Good luck Delonte, here's hoping you can get past the off-court issues and have a productive remainder of your career.

Never was a big fan of Delonte’s, but he’s a solid piece to a good Boston team that I’m hoping will send Miami back to South Beach to watch the remainder of the playoffs

I wish Delonte the best. I’ve always liked him as a player and an amusing character. I really hope the Celtics do well, and for the first time ever, I’ll be rooting for them come playoff time to not allow the southbeach team make it to the finals.

Good luck, mane!

I think the Cavs traded the wrong guard. Delonte isn’t the one who didn’t show up either year in the playoffs. Mo Williams should have just stayed home during the playoffs.
