The giant versus the tiny: Cavs vs. Lakers preview

Ok, so I actually had some time to write a decent preview today, and here it goes.

Star-divide

Likely Starting lineups

Cavaliers:

PG-Mo Williams

SG-Manny Harris

SF-Christian Eyenga

PF-Antawn Jamison

C-Anderson Varejao

Key reserves-Ramon Sessions, Alonzo Gee

Lakers:

PG-Derek Fisher

SG-Kobe Bryant

SF-Ron Artest

PF-Pau Gasol

C-Andrew Bynum

Key Reserves-Matt Barnes, Shannon Brown, Lamar Odom, Steve Blake

The Lakers have the advantage in every single category except for point guard, and Mo Williams needs to be really aggressive, and put at least 25 points in the bucket for the Cavs to have any shot of winnning this game. Otherwise, try to get on the break, especially against their starters, as they are slow and old.

On defense, Eyenga will probably get the assignment on Kobe, and I wish him well, because Kobe will probably be flying at him. I would double him, and leave either Artest or Fisher open, and force them to make open shots in order to win. Bynum and Gasol are just too big for us, so our bigs need to front them, and the backcourt should try to get hands in the passing lanes.

Aside from that, there really isnt that much else to say. I will be very happy if we even stay close in this game, and a win at Staples Center could turn this season around and get these guy's morale up.

Lakers Key Player-Pau Gasol

Cavs key player- Mo Williams

if we can keep it within 12, it will be a moral victory.

Kudos to you for making a game preview. Only problem is that Varejao isn’t on the starting lineup, he’s out for the rest of this shitty season.

I’ll be watching till the end, for bitter or glory.

Adam Foote still blows!

I’ll be at the game. Used to never be able to see our Cavs play the Lakers out here without breaking the bank. Now i’m in the door for about 25 bucks. Silver Lining!!

The Lakers will, as they have all year long against inferior opponents, take this game off.

If you guys come out from the get go and our Lakers are still in the locker room, it could be a game that u guys can win. Its happened before.

But, if the Lakers do show up, I expect them to win. The Lakers do tend to play down to the talent level of other teams though.

Thats why they play the game, anything can happen.

good luck tonight.

"What we want to remember—what we will remember—is the indelible vision of Kobe, his arms outstretched, delirious with joy and disbelief, running after and grabbing hold of Lamar Odom’s floating downcourt pass, while all the purple and gold streamers in the world are raining down on the hardwood." - Brian Tung
