Around SBN: Now They've Screwed Spurs, UEFA Willing To Review Rule

The Pain is almost over

The season to forget is nearly at a close!  What have we seen?  All the "experts" will claim that they were right- without LeB..., Cavs couldn't win 20.  Yea; and they saw the injuries to Andy, Jamison, etc coming, didn't they?  Bright spots?  We've got a couple of pg that can play!  Ramon has impressed.  Baron Davis for Mo?  I like what I've seen.  Serviceable power forwards for 10-12 minutes a game we've got more then we need (Harangody, Samuels, etc).  JJ coming out party- yep.  Now that he seems focussed, and set at the "4",  I see a double double every nite.  Yep, that means we got too many "4"s, and that's not a bad thing.  If we can get something/anything for Antwan, now is a good time.  Andy back and healthy with Ryan Hollins for a back up- if Hollins can add 10-20 pounds in the weight room over the off season, I'm good at the "5" too.  So- everyone with me so far?  We can be competitive and solid at 1,4 and 5 next year.

So, where do we go now?  2 very, very high picks coming.  Draft for need, or draft best available?  What trades could we do before draft?  Lots of talk here, and elsewhere; but lets go with no trades and see what we can get out of draft.  Pick best SF out there (Derrick Williams, Harrison Barnes), and best 2 (Jimmer, Alec Burkes, David Lighty)?-  Well, even I don't think that's best use.  Too many very intriguing pg out there (Kemba Walker, Kyrie Irving).  So, need to get back to trades.  Use draft for a pg (keep either sessions or davis as starter and get our pg of the future!).  Now, go get best "SF/3" out there with our 1st pick and the pg with the other.  Trade a pg for another 1st rounder and there we can get the sg we need.  Trade exemption?  Yet another 1st rounder?  that would be too cool!

Next year; maybe a young lineup.  Maybe not yet a contender; but very fun to watch them grow.  What are we at- like 50 years since a Cleveland championship?  I can wait a couple of more!  Lets field a young, exciting team and like OKC, watch em grow up into a true long term contender.  THen maybe the next generation of stars will be lining up to come to the Cavs as free agents when the current crop is a bunch of over the hill has-beens.

Lets stay excited about the off season and the trades, draft, and future of our Cavs.
