Trade Up to #2 Pick
The cavs should trade up to the number 2 pick by trading Minnisoda some of the team's "assets" for the pick so that the cavs can draft williams and have one of the deadliest duos in the leage.
What do you guys think is that a possiblity and what would the cavs have to give them for it to happen?
*Dream Senario* If the cavs trade for the 2nd pick and keep the 4th that would be an epic draft. Any way for that to happen and what is your dream senario?

Not Worth It Or Necessary
Though it sounds nice, what we would give up to pry the number 2 pick from Minnesota would surely be more than what Williams is worth. Having Irving and Kanter will already be a great start for this team in addition to JJ Hickson.

Minnesota may not trade that pick to us...
Minnesota’s GM David Kahn probably won’t trade with us after what happened during the Draft Lottery.
If that hadn’t happened, then we could probably trade picks with one of those future 1st Rounders from the Heat.
Impossible to get the #2 without giving the #4…It would probably take the #4 and one of the 2nd rounders to move up to the #2 spot.

Which would be fine with me. Those seconds are pretty worthless in this draft.

This makes no sense in the weakest draft ever.
Winning means you're willing to go longer, work harder, and give more than anyone else.
It's a weak draft beyond the first 10 picks or so...
There a lot of solid players to consider taking that could have an immediate impact in the top 10 picks. If you have the top 2 picks, you get the “pick of the litter”.
Kyrie Irving
Derrick Williams
Enes Kanter
Brandon Knight
Kawhi Leonard
Kemba Walker
Tristan Thompson
Alec Burks
Janos Valanciunas
Jan Vesely

well it might happen
they said it will be a three team trade we eat up rip hamiltons contract and get detroits pick and we trade the 4th and 8th pick to the twolves and we might have to give up some players to detroit
this will be awesome if we can do this!! deffinently goin to be good in the future wit irving williams and hickson watch out NBA!!!
I would only be willing to give up...
Daniel Gibson, Christian Eyenga, Ryan Hollins, or Manny Harris.

I would throw Ramon Sessions’ name in there too… Baron Davis, Kyrie Irvin, and Gibson would make for a pretty decent PG rotation. Makes Sessions somewhat expendable in my opinion.
I still think Gibson needs to go....
Especially with the NBA’s ever-lowering salary cap. He makes over $4 million per year and is totally expendable. He doesn’t play a definite role on this team except for “bench warmer”. We could draft a 2nd Rounder that could be a third string combo guard and be able to cover both spots. Versatility is the game in the NBA.
Our line-up (assuming that we snag the #2 overall pick) should look like…
PG – Baron Davis / Kyrie Irving / Draft PG
SG – Manny Harris / FA SG
SF – Derrick Williams / Christian Eyenga
PF – J.J. Hickson / Samardo Samuels / Luke Harangody
C – Anderson Varejao / Semih Erden
I would love to see Jamal Crawford in a Cavalier uniform, but Ithink he will demand too much money. Or I’d like to get Delonte West back.

I think we will be drafting a combo guard with our last pick
We worked out 3 players projected to be second round/undrafted (Cory Joseph, Diante Garrett and Cory Higgins) all either PG or combo guards.
As for your line up:
I like Gee alittle more than Harris as stand in SG until replacement(unless buy back into first round for a SG, hopefully)
Also think Hollins fits Byron Scotts system with Davis better than Erden
Other than those I like the line up alot.
Plus you must be really sad that Singleton had a bad workout for the Cavs.
I was kinda bummed about Singleton...
I figured that he would be a sleeper in the first round, but apparently he was a sleeper at the workouts, too! LOL!
For what it’s worth, the article on ESPN said that we would be looking to go Irving/ Williams with 1 and 2. I don’t know how I would feel about that though since we do have Hickson… Although he would give us some pretty significant trade ammunition.
If we do end up trading for #2, I’d say look for the starting lineup to look completely different next year than it did last year.
