lets go cavs make this deal happen!!!!

Star-divide

i read an article on espn saying that the cavs are trying to get the number 2 pick also!! this is really exciting for me! i think if we get irving and williams we have a great chance at heading in the right direction! i want to hear what u guys have to say is this a good move we are using our trade exception in this deal. which i have no problem using. i would love to see irving williams and hickson create a trio to be recogonized. heres the article http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2011/news/story?id=6603100

Broussard is not the best source

but i like this idea but i think we should keep the eight and give twolves something else like one or both 2nd rounders or sessions.

I agree with that...

If the Timberwolves really want to move that number two pick, then they can accept less in assets.

We should be able to send them…

1) 2011 #4 Overall Pick
2) 2011 2nd Round Pick (Probably #32 overall)
3) 2013 1st Round Pick from Miami

We need to wait until almost Draft Day to make this deal though. Minnesota will see the small amount of takers that can offer a package like that and we’ll get a better deal and keep the #8 Overall Pick.

That also begs the question… Who will would we take 8th Overall if we take Irivng and Williams #1 and #2? Probably Alec Burks…

I would love to see Chris Grant get ultra aggressive and snag the #3 Pick, too. We could have Irving, Williams, and Kanter. OMG!!!

yes that would be the best draft ever!

even if this is the weakest draft to be seen we got the three best players in it… we could give utah sessions and maybe jamison and like a second round pick from this year! and come away with the steal and get a sg in free agency!! this would ultimately be the best thing they could do. but it would be hard to get all three top picks

i think getting the #3 also is asking to much

were are running out of assets. Unless MInny will take the #4 and Jamison for #2 and Utah would take #8 and Sessions (with some form of the 2nr rounders and one first round either next year or in 2013, in both trades but only if needed)

Then get Irving WIlliams and Kanter

of course doesnt matter because i dont think DET deal will go down

Except for that he's had a long-standing relationship with JoD

oh and Tom Gores, new owner of the Pistons has alreayd expressed his excitment for the draft. Y’all are delusional if you think the Pistons are going to give up the opportunity to re-build and a viable trade asset just for a TPE.

Folks over at DBB have been much more receptive to the idea of this trade IF we acquired Minny’s 20th overall pick. That would allow us to address our need for a big going with whoever is available at 20.

Saving over $12 million is nothing to sneeze at...

A lot of owners would kill for that chance. It gives them the oppotunity to bring in cheaper talent. If your owner isn’t willing to spend a lot of money like Dan Gilbert, then this is a good thing. Detroit can keep there pick. We can go after the Bucks pick and Corey Maggette. At least, he fills a need at the 3.

Saving over $12M is certainly valuable

But it starts losing value when:

- There is no one out there to spend that money on to fill the needs of your team (frontcourt)
- There is question as to how the new CBA will be built

I don’t disagree that it would be valuable to save $12M, but Gores actually just came out and said that he’s giving JoD 3 years to right this ship. 3 years for a GM is a long time. In fact, its long enough to have all of our worst contracts expire naturally (Rip, Ben Gordon, Maxiell, Charlie Villanueva). I don’t think you’ll see JoD sacrifice the opportunity to draft new, young, cheap talent (like Biyombo hopefully) simply to move 1 of 4 albatross contracts without getting some type of compensation in return.

Folks at DBB.com would love to have Ramon Sessions or Minnesota’s #20.

Why not go for Beasley instead? He would be cheaper (maybe the Cavs could keep their 4 for a center or a shooting guard). Let them have Williams.
