2012

Ok I know this is REALLY early to think about, but we got nothing else to talk about with the draft being over and the lockout stopping the FA talk for awhile. So I was thinking about the 2012 draft and whether there is a season next year or not I believe we will get a top 5 pick. I dont think Sactown will get in playoffs next year(if we play) and we wont want to switch picks with Miami, so we will have a top 5 first round and 2 second rounders(ours and New Orleans).

What are you hoping for? Yes a whole lot could change but as it stands now, I see we have 2 future good backups for both SG/SF with Eyenga(SF/SG) and Casspi(SF), but still need a starter at both positions. Also nothing in terms of future Center, but we could have the making of our future PG/PF with Irving&TT.

Looking at the 2012 draft with the possible players coming out, I love Beal with our first pick(I dont think we will be high enough to grab Barnes). Beal is a good defender with an amazing shot that can also play PG. With him we get future starting SG and also our back up PG, with Irving coming off and Beal moving to point and Eyenga filling in at SG.

As for future starting SF, I think Barnes for would perfect. He is a great defender, a hard worker, can shot and create his own shot which will be lacking here a bit. Of course as I stated before I don't think we will be high enough to draft him with our pick; so I am wondering what would everyone be willing to give up to acquire another pick high enough to draft him as well. Me personally would easily give up any or all of Andy/Sessions/Sactown pick/any second rounders they wanted and maybe Miami 2015.

A core of Irving Beal Barnes and TT is things of dreams.

As you did say....

It is pretty early to start talking about this, but some talk is better than no talk.

I think it will be harder to acquire Barnes than you actually think. We will be going into a stronger draft next year which will make picks even more valuable and harder to trade for.

One team that we need to try to deal with is Charlotte. I believe their team will be absolutely atrocious next year If we could somehow nab their 1st Round pick for the 2012 Sacramento 1st Round pick (maybe), both of our 2nd Round picks, Antawn Jamison’s expiring contract (for a buyout) and possibly adding the 2015 Miami 1st Round pick, then it may be possible. In this scenario we may have to take a player or two back, but Charlotte may not give us anyone back.

After what happen to the Clippers pick and how strong the draft is i doubt any picks will be traded before the drawings

I bet Barnes will be in the top 5(hopefully our pick will be that high) and our best bet is getting Beal. He is a top 5 talent in most other drafts but wont be in the top 5 because so much other talent and he wont be able to shine as much as he could at the very talented shacked Florida. So we might be able to collect enough assets during the season to trade for a 6-10 pick and get Beal and Barnes.

Rivers is the better SG(top 5), but Beal is a perfect fit for us. With Barnes and Irving able to easily create for themselves and others. Beal can just spot up and drain shots(best shooter in draft), but still with the ability to create for himself if needed.

really?

Hopefully we will have a high enough pick with our pick in top 5 for Barnes and have built up enough assets to get a 6-10 range pick for Beal who will fall not because is less talented just wont shine in his situation at Florida and so much talent in draft.

chewy, did you want tristan thompson at 4 or other

i think cavs will get another high pick, their team is really young and flawed

Bradley Beal- http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft/results/players/_/id/19658/bradley-beal -Like as better fit for us than Rivers

I would have preferred JV but can live with TnT.

I agree were young and have potential, but with all the players still needed to be traded and everything should be real bad first half slightly better 2nd (just like last yr)

whats the deal on tristan, is he a skinny power forward, a sf?

i know he had one year, their scouting seemed to be really high on him that they took him over jonas and vesely

you really need the young players to really develop fast like casspi, irving, thompson, and a few others, this is still a lottery team and they will get another good player in draft next year and have to draft well unless they can get a big time player to join cavs which is unlikely

Yes, this team will have plenty of lotteries and first rounders to come. It really depends on what the team plans to do with so many young guys. You can have a mess like Sacramento which is very talented but where do you fit in all these guys. You can also set yourself back with a bad draft or trade. Let’s wait and see.
