Is anyone watching this 4th quarter of Chicago-Miami? Rose is going off.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 4:51 PM CST reply actions

There are very few reasons why I dislike parts of the NBA but two of them are overzealous refs calling charges and technicals. Both just happened in like a 30 second span. Gross.

My seats are amazing tonight.

I pulled off $40 3rd row dead in the corners (so not too great) at the Target Center via StubHub a couple weeks back.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 5:00 PM CST up reply actions

Heat were up 94-86 with 1:45 to go and now Rose is at the line as it is 94-93 with 22 to play.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 5:05 PM CST reply actions

And he misses both. Cue the idiot media members now who will call Derrick Rose a choker.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 5:06 PM CST up reply actions

LeBron then misses both, haha. 17 to play.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 5:08 PM CST reply actions

Prepare for endless debate on SC about the controversy at the end of this one.

I love the wild thing

by iso1512 on Jan 29, 2012 5:22 PM CST via mobile reply actions

the pick and roll with Kyrie was nice!
And the tip in after Jamison missed!

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 5:24 PM CST up reply actions

So in a way, tonight is a ‘must win’ game. While the Cavaliers were somewhat hot early on in the season (there was a time when they were a few games up on the C’s. I like to call those ‘the dark times’), they’ve tapered off significantly in recent games, and just got done dropping a close one to the New Jersey Nyets. Their best player is a rookie who has been, while a pleasant surprise as a rookie, still a below-average starting point guard.

taken directly from celtics blog game thread

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:25 PM CST reply actions

That’s absurd. Kyrie is a top 10 pg right now

by davidzavac on Jan 29, 2012 5:29 PM CST up reply actions

seriously though, i was pretty shocked when i read it. the way he wrote it too was as if it was common knowledge

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:47 PM CST up reply actions

Nice steal by Andy. Playing the passing lane.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 5:27 PM CST reply actions

Tristan missed point blank.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 5:31 PM CST reply actions

cavs looking decent tonight, defensive effort is good but we need to pick up intensity

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:33 PM CST reply actions

i hope are below average point guard helps us beat the celtics.

by beanjames on Jan 29, 2012 5:33 PM CST reply actions

He is running the offense well so far. Maybe we need a little more pace to tire the old guys out.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 5:36 PM CST up reply actions

wow a team missed a quarter closing shot against us, thought that was dropping for sure

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:35 PM CST reply actions

Yeah, nice turn of events. Maybe it bodes well for the rest of the game.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 5:36 PM CST up reply actions

i can only hope. were you around for any of the nets nonsense yesterday?

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:38 PM CST up reply actions

Watched it but wasn’t online

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 5:42 PM CST up reply actions

what are you doing smardo

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:40 PM CST reply actions

I’m excited for TT getting a whole off-season to help his offensive game with the Cavs coaches

by iso1512 on Jan 29, 2012 5:43 PM CST via mobile reply actions

he just needs to calm down for the most part. it looks like he forces everything he does usually

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:44 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah but I can’t wait for him to get some post moves to go with his athletesism. I dont think he welll ever develop a consistent jump shot but that would just be icing on the cake.

by iso1512 on Jan 29, 2012 5:49 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

yes,i think he will be much improved .his work ethic very good or so they say,

by beanjames on Jan 29, 2012 5:46 PM CST up reply actions

yes, parker back is acting up they good play big minutes together.

by beanjames on Jan 29, 2012 5:50 PM CST reply actions

its pretty dead here tonight for sure. actualy it kinda sounds dead in the celtics arena too

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 5:51 PM CST up reply actions

Hard for me to comment on my kindle

by davidzavac on Jan 29, 2012 5:53 PM CST up reply actions

by iso1512 on Jan 29, 2012 6:06 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Kyrie is 4-4 with 4 assists

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:05 PM CST reply actions

not a bad half

What if...

by Danieldelamaiz on Jan 29, 2012 6:13 PM CST reply actions

defense was tough. i would like to see it tighten up a bit more and hopefully the grandpas start to get tired

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:15 PM CST up reply actions

You got that right. Let’s continue this.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:15 PM CST up reply actions

its weird, no matter how much i know it is better that we lose, i really want the 8 seed still

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:17 PM CST reply actions

You never want to establish a loosing culture. Plus, there is nothing more important than experience in playoff games

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:19 PM CST up reply actions

mychel thompson averages 2 mpg? i have never seen him on the floor

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:19 PM CST reply actions

He played in one game so far.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:21 PM CST up reply actions

boston commentators fawning over ky

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:22 PM CST reply actions

Gee payed attention.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:22 PM CST reply actions

Allen shooting layups for three again.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:24 PM CST reply actions

Hmm, we may see some Eyenga action then today or soon if both he and Boobie are out.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:29 PM CST up reply actions

also, where is boobie?

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:25 PM CST reply actions

Out with a stiff neck

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:26 PM CST up reply actions

Not watching, but checking in. Our SG’s are as bad as Laker PG’s.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:28 PM CST reply actions

Love to see that Ray Ray is back in the lineup bombing away as usual.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:28 PM CST reply actions

weve been letting him get wide open

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:29 PM CST up reply actions

who’s guarding him, Gee?

by PurpleLoco on Jan 29, 2012 6:30 PM CST up reply actions

gee has been, ky has been on him a couple times because of switches. we also started the game in a zone. he’s been getting off those screens with noone there to contest

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:31 PM CST up reply actions

I’m always curious as to how people watch the games. Do most of you get FS Ohio or go the League pass route?

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:31 PM CST reply actions

$169. Also, the Celtics announcers are terrible.

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:33 PM CST up reply actions

AWFUL. i cant believe it actually

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:34 PM CST up reply actions

Worst I’ve ever heard

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:36 PM CST up reply actions

You’ve never listened to the White Sox TV guys then I’ll assume..

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:37 PM CST up reply actions

No, and that sounds awful

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:38 PM CST up reply actions

Yea, it’s that MLB.TV thing that forces me to.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:39 PM CST up reply actions

Ouch. I get MLB.TV every year and it is only $100

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:36 PM CST up reply actions

Basketball’s more fun to watch on TV. Equally fun to go to games though.

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:37 PM CST up reply actions

Cavs – in search of offense

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 6:35 PM CST reply actions

yuck we are not looking good

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:36 PM CST reply actions

pierce: 8-10
allen: 7-10

gross

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:42 PM CST reply actions

I know, it costs Kyrie assists and Antawn trade value, hate it

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:46 PM CST up reply actions

im starting to get very curious how and when we will make trades. we would probably have to do a three-team deal to get a decent pick, or eat a lot of salary like last year but i dont think anybody is going to be willing to give up a lotto pick to us

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:47 PM CST up reply actions

Raising his 50.4 FG% even more.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:46 PM CST up reply actions

Whether people want to admit it or not, Samardo > Tigger and Gee > Casspi.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:43 PM CST reply actions

samardo should be getting more time

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 6:44 PM CST up reply actions

Thompson plays so small when he gets down low. He’s going to always get blocked often if he crouches down so low anytime he gets the ball in the paint and after o boards.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:44 PM CST reply actions

We are hiding Samardo so other teams don’t pay him (shhh)

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 6:45 PM CST reply actions

The man produces. I have no doubts he’s a rotation player.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:47 PM CST up reply actions

Rubio 0-2 tonight and not looking great. Further widening the gap

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:46 PM CST reply actions

Ray Allen is shooting 40-70 on bombs this year.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:48 PM CST reply actions

I like that Sessions is giving those three’s a go this year.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 6:56 PM CST reply actions

lol kyrie right back to work

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:00 PM CST reply actions

We need defense. More defense. Much more defense!

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 7:02 PM CST reply actions

wow kyrie makes it look simple

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:03 PM CST reply actions

It is, you put the ball through the orange circle 10 feet above the ground. Nothing to it.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 7:05 PM CST up reply actions

i really dont get how there is debate now whether or not kyrie is going to be above average, people always say he will be “solid” hes already better than solid i think (offensively for sure, defense obv needs improvement), and i dont doubt he is going to be an all-star point guard at all

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:07 PM CST reply actions

mo williams was an allstar

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:08 PM CST up reply actions

sorry, the c’s commentators were talking about him a little bit

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:09 PM CST up reply actions

If I didn’t have them on mute.. haha

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 7:09 PM CST up reply actions

Ray is an a-hole for missing that one, wow.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 7:09 PM CST reply actions

We have a three point game, folks.

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 7:10 PM CST reply actions

Still in the game. Let’s finish this one strong.

by kptb on Jan 29, 2012 7:11 PM CST reply actions

lol the one boston commentator literally doesnt talk unless he is bitching about a call. i havent heard his voice in ten minutes and he finally speaks: “I AM GETTING REALLY AGITATED. HOW IS THAT NOT A FOUL”

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:11 PM CST reply actions

I know this is dumb but andy is almost untradeable he is playing so well

by davidzavac on Jan 29, 2012 7:12 PM CST reply actions

i am firmly on the andy is untouchable bandwagon. id rather trade TT, easy

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:13 PM CST up reply actions

damnit someone needs to tell Andy we’re not supposed to beat these guys!

by Savage_Buckeye on Jan 29, 2012 7:15 PM CST reply actions

dumb, cenile commentator: “these officials tonight, they should fire them, WOW”
more intelligent commentator: “heck of a hustle play by varejao”

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:15 PM CST reply actions

Methinks Kyrie scores a winner here.

by Savage_Buckeye on Jan 29, 2012 7:16 PM CST reply actions

Kyrie has more spin moves than Madden

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 7:17 PM CST up reply actions

FUCK YEAH! this one goes out to all the nets fans out there

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:17 PM CST reply actions

Conrad nailed this prediction!

by johnf34 on Jan 29, 2012 7:17 PM CST reply actions

he has to be going nuts

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:18 PM CST up reply actions

He’s like a whirling dervish

by Savage_Buckeye on Jan 29, 2012 7:18 PM CST reply actions

YES YES YES, GREAT GAME, i am beyond psyched right now

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:20 PM CST reply actions

WE WIN! BELOW ABOVE PGS FTW!

What if...

by Danieldelamaiz on Jan 29, 2012 7:20 PM CST reply actions

There honestly were a small handful of no-calls we benefited from (accidentally jumping onto PP and no foul comes to mind) but we also straight outhustled this team. We want to win more.

by Savage_Buckeye on Jan 29, 2012 7:21 PM CST reply actions

we did get a couple calls, but hey we closed out that game. boston didnt score in the last 4 minutes

by FrenchToast979 on Jan 29, 2012 7:21 PM CST up reply actions

exactly. Andy was a madman. He’s untouchable.

by Savage_Buckeye on Jan 29, 2012 7:22 PM CST up reply actions

That was pretty neat

by teamrobhogg on Jan 29, 2012 7:21 PM CST reply actions

awsome game irving ,andy and gee were awsome

by beanjames on Jan 29, 2012 7:27 PM CST reply actions
