Cavaliers Waive Kevin Jones, Michael Eric, D'Aundray Brown, Roster Stands at 15

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-US PRESSWIRE

The Cleveland Cavaliers made their final cuts for the official roster on Saturday afternoon. They had to trim down three players to get to the required 15. See who they cut.

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced today that they made their final roster cuts before the regular season starts on October 30th against the Washington Wizards. In order to get to the maximum allowed players, Byron Scott and Chris Grant waived Michael Eric, Kevin Jones, and D'Aundray Brown.

Common sense will tell you that that means Donald Sloan, Jeremy Pargo, and yes, even Luke Harangody are all safe and made the team. The mystery of why Luke Harangody is still on this team continues. Someday we will find out.

I assume that the organization will do its best to sign the players that they just cut to D-League contracts. They probably won't be able to keep all of them, but expect to see some combination of Eric, Brown, and Jones playing for the Canton Charge this season.

For reference, here's the Cleveland Cavaliers opening night roster:

Guards:

Kyrie Irving

Daniel Gibson

Donald Sloan

Jeremy Pargo

Dion Waiters

Forwards:

C.J. Miles

Alonzo Gee

Omri Casspi

Luke Harangody

Luke Walton

Samardo Samuels

Tristan Thompson

Jon Leuer

Centers:

Tyler Zeller

Anderson Varejao
