Cavaliers Waive Mychel Thompson

LAS VEGAS, NV - MARCH 05: Rashad Green #13 of the San Francisco Dons drives against Mychel Thompson #15 of the Pepperdine Waves during a quarterfinal game of the Zappos.com West Coast Conference Basketball tournament at the Orleans Arena March 5, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As of February 10th, all contracts must be guaranteed for the rest of the season. As of today, teams are allowed to offer 10-day contracts to players. Daniel Gibson is healthy again and will play on Tuesday night in Miami.

All of this adds up to the unfortunate fate of rookie guard, Mychel Thompson. The Cavaliers decided to waive Thompson on Monday and the roster now stands at 14 players. This gives the Cavs the flexibility to sign someone to a 10-day deal...say, Manny Harris?

Mychel started 3 games for the Cavaliers and averaged 3.6 points, 1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.

He didn’t last long enough for either of us to put a picture of him up in a Cavaliers uniform in our articles.

great feeling

I think I have the same feeling the Chicago Bulls fans once had when they first saw how great Derrick Rose could be. KYRIE BABY!!!! P.S keep V him and Kyrie great 1-2 punch. All i want for JUNEmas is Bradley Beal or Ray McCallum. I’d perfer Perry Jones III early and if we can get a second 1st round first pick late I’d take Ray McCallum in a heart beat.

I absolutely LOVE Bradley Beal. He’s one of the guys I would be ecstatic about getting. I also feel like we will almost definitely keep Varejao.

Mychel’s 0-0-1 in 30 minutes sealed this. Even Parker has never done that.

A little odd that we wouldn’t keep him till Tuesday with AP and Tigger down. Better to have a healthy body JIC.

Yanks are the Empire. Red Sox are the Empire with PR claiming they are the Rebellion.
