It was determined on Monday that neither Tristan Thompson nor Anthony Parker would make the trip to Miami to play against the Heat on Tuesday. There was hope, however, that Daniel Gibson would be able to make the trip and rejoin the team, presumably as the starting shooting guard.
Bob Finnan has now confirmed that Boobie did not make the trip with the team and is out once again. After waiving Mychel Thompson, this puts the Cavs in a difficult spot. Thompson starting at shooting guard in each of the past three games, but is now no longer on the roster. Gibson has missed the past 4 games with a neck infection. He told reporters that he was feeling much better, despite not making the trip with the team.
It seems likely that Alonzo Gee will be asked to make the spot start at shooting guard on Tuesday against Miami.
