After the trade that sent Ramon Sessions to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, the Cavaliers found themselves with a pretty big hole at backup point guard. The Cavs addressed this need by signing 24 year old Donald Sloan out of the D-League.
Sloan has played well with the Erie Bayhawks this year and was signed for the remainder of the season with the Cavs. The Cavaliers announced the deal on Friday afternoon on their official website.
In eight games (all starts), Sloan has averaged 22.8 points on .496 shooting, 5.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 38.6 minutes per game with the BayHawks.
Byron Scott has said that Sloan will be ready to play on Sunday and Sloan said that he is "geeked" to play against Atlanta.
A number of D-League writers and fans have claimed that Sloan is perhaps the best player in the D-League this season.
