NBA Draft Rumors: Trading Picks

In the 2012 Draft the Cavaliers non-lottery picks will be 24th, 33rd and 34th. With the team not in need of four rookies I think there are some options for things they could do to

The player who comes to Cleveland via the lottery will probably be a starter from the get go and be expected to match Kyrie Irving by competing for the Rookie of the Year award.

I've got something I'd like the Cavaliers to attempt to do if they could possibly pull it off.

Personally, with those three picks I'd like to see the Cavs take two, or even all three of them and get back into the late part of the lottery. I don't rate 24, 33 or 34 that highly compared to the picks in the lottery because I want some star power and not four rookies.

It's very unlikely that the Cavs are going to just take the picks and go all in to move up but it's something that I hope they'd consider.

I'm not at all okay with the Cavs trading back at any point with any of the picks because they don't need to accumulate any more picks down the road. With the lottery pick this year being the best pick the team will likely have in the Kyrie Irving days it's imperative to find another great piece from this class.

I'm definitely confident enough in the Cavs finding at least two solid role players or significantly more if they just stand put. It seems crazy that anyone would give up a lottery pick for those three picks, but if we could get one, I'd love to do try and package these to do it.

But, in the NBA I believe it is about the quality of your stars rather than the quantity of your very sold players. Take a look at Lakers vs. Nuggets for a bit of backing with my thoughts.

What types of trades up or down do you think the Cavs could make by packaging two or three of these picks? Would you rather go up or down?

Lastly, what do you think the Cavs could get if they outrageously offered all three of their late picks for a lottery slot?
