Kyrie Irving vs. Damian Lillard. That was the story going into this game, right? Well, Kyrie put that comparison to rest. The reigning Rookie of the Year dropped a cool 31 points on Lillard. The slightly over-hyped Lillard had a pretty terrible performance, scoring 13 points on 3 of 9 shooting and failing to make a true impact on the game. Alonzo Gee's defense on Lillard is a big reason for his ineffectiveness. The end result was a 93-88 victory on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Cavaliers had a 17-point lead at halftime, but blew it and let the Blazers take the lead late. And then Kyrie Irving said "enough of this tomfoolery" and put the Blazers to sleep.
Dion Waiters had a poor game, but I don't think it was because of bad decisions. He just couldnt get a shot to fall tonight and that's okay. He didn't force the issue and is hopefully learning from it all.
Tristan Thompson was a monster. His 19 points and 14 rebounds really helped the Cavs and he is playing with an unbelievable confidence right now.
Luke Walton needs to not be getting NBA minutes ever. I can't stand watching it.
