With playoff spots closing and limited in the East, the Wizards just improved themselves. I wouldn't say things are looking grim for the Cavs, but it needs to be noted that Gortat and Shannon Brown going to the Wizards.
Gortat is a pretty good center in the NBA and Brown will be a nice backup for Bradley Beal to keep him fresh.
We need to keep an eye on the teams around us fighting for those last three playoff spots after Chi, Ind, Brookln, NYK, Miami, and Detroit/Atlanta. Some would argue that they are a legit playoff team with a lineup of:
- John Wall - Maynor/Marshall
- Bradley Beal - Brown/Rice
- Otto Porter - Ariza/Webster
- Nene - Booker/Harrington
- Marcin Gortat - Singleton/Seraphin
All said and done, Cavs shouldn't panic as this team will go only as far as Wall takes them.
What do you guys think? Did this drastically improve Washington's playoff hopes or only marginally helped them and the Cavs should still be projected above them?
Go cavs! !
