While this current season is definitely interesting, what's more fun than discussing the upcoming draft?
I talk about Otto Porter a lot, throw his stats into thread discussions. It's not because I don't like Shabazz, I just don't believe he'll be there when the Cavs pick. Same goes for Nerlens Noel. I think a lot of people feel the same way ( but hope otherwise like I do), so we end up talking about who should be selected with our first pick. I still think there's good value later in the draft, so I'm interested in possible draft combinations.
Some ground rules:
1) Assume the Cavs first pick will be anywhere from 5-8. To me this means players like Shabazz, Noel, and Mclemore will be gone, but if you don't think so make your case for that.
2) Assume Chris Grant can package picks like he did last year and move up into the 18-20 range.
This will leave us with just two picks in this draft. 5-8 and 18-20, so who would you pick?
Obviously mock drafts are going to be inconsistent, but part of the fun of this is to see our predictions now vs. the end of the season.
Here are some of the mock drafts I referred to:
Yes I understand all of these mock drafts have us picking 3rd or 4th, but barring injuries and the fact we have a bench, this could realistically change that. Also remember this is for discussions sake and this is my first stab at a fan post. Links to players stats can be found in the links above.
Enjoy!
