As the past two weeks have shown marked improvement (4-1 in the past 5 games with the only loss a close loss at the Heat; not to mention a close loss to the Spurs just prior to this stretch), the Cavs are inching closer to a sever reduction in ping pong balls in the upcoming draft.
Right now, the Cavs are 20-38, sitting at 7th in the draft order. However, here is the current draft order:
- Charlotte 13-44
- Orlando 16-42
- Washington 18-38
- Sacramento 20-39
- New Orleans 20-39
- Phoenix 20-39
- Cleveland 20-38
- Minnesota 20-34
- Detroit 23-37
- Toronto 23-35
- Philadelphia 22-33
- Dallas 25-32
- Portland 26-31
- LA Lakers 28-30
If the progression continue I could see us catching Philly, but probably not the three West teams.
So would everyone be ok with drafting 11th in the next draft? Or should we hope for a little bit more regression to get a player in the 5-8 range (I doubt we jump into the Top 3, but hey if it happened with the Clippers pick once, we could still "technically" do it).
