The Case for Nikola Pekovic and what he should be paid

I did a fan post for Tiago Splitter now I will do one for Non from Superman also known as Nikola Pekovic. I think the Cavs should go after Pekovic or Splitter. Pekovic is my 1st choice.

Pekovic would be an AWESOME pick up for the Cavs. He's simply an iron man in the paint with the Stats to back it up. If the Timberwolves are crazy enough to let him go the Cavs should snatch him up. Let's look at the numbers.

16.3 P.P.G.

8.8 R.P.G.

52% FG

P.E.R. 20.27

Per 48 - 24.8 P.P.G. 13.4 R.P.G.

He's a 74% FT shooter and foul drawing percentage of 15.9% as opposed to Roy Hibbert's 9.2%.

He has a 20.2 PER and the Center he's guarding has a 15.5 PER. He averages 6 more points than his opponent and pulls down more rebounds.

He has 7.4 free throw attempts compared to the person he's guarding averaging 3.6 free throw attempts.

Here's a video of Nikola Pekovic scoring 29:

What should he be paid?

Pekovic is scheduled to make 6 million next year and he's a restricted free agent. I say 28 million over 3 years. 8 million the 1st year and 10 million the next 2 years.

He has comparable numbers to Al Jefferson who made 15 million this year and much better numbers than Okafor who made 13.5 million this year.

The line ups would look like this:

Irving/Robinson(my choice) or Livingston

Waiters/Ellington

Porter/Gee

T.T./McAdoo

Pekovic/Zeller

I think this team could win 35-45 games next year in the East depending on Porters development. If Porter turns into a Danny Granger, Tayshaun Prince type of player then look out!
