Grant and Scott need to go if no playoffs next year

Byron Scott needs to go this year in my opinion. I don't think he's the right Coach for this team. I see parallels between him and Avery Johnson. The New Jersey Nets before they moved to Brooklyn is also similar to where the Cavs are now. After the Nets let Avery go they have flourished even though people cried and complained when they let him go.

I know that Cavs fans get attached and when you talk about letting certain people go, some people go a little crazy. I have talked about trading Andy and Boobie and some people lost it. That makes no sense to me especially when we need to rebuild and grow.

So, Grant and Scott should get one more year. There's no reason why the Cavs shouldn't make the Playoffs next year. The East might even be weaker next year with the Bucks, Hawks and the Celtics going through major changes.

The Bucks might lose Jennings and Ellis, the Celtics will be looking to rebuild and the Hawks will be without Josh Smith. The two teams that should make the Playoffs is the Cavs and the Wizards. The Wizards will have Wall and Beal for the year plus Nene and Okafor play well together. They just need a SF.

That brings us to what the Cavs need. I think they need a SF and they need an established SF not one through the draft or an established Center.

Here's the players the Cavs should go after.

Nikola Pekovic - Center Minnesota Timberwolves. Pek's a restricted free agent and there's already grumblings about Minnesota matching an offer for him. He's a beast in the paint.

Tiago Splitter - Center for the San Antonio Spurs. He's an unrestricted free agent and he could be a nice pick up like Houston did with Asik.

Al Jefferson - Center for the Utah Jazz. An unrestricted free agent and a good player.

Luol Deng - The Bulls might want to let him go to avoid the big contract and to avoid him just leaving in 2014 as an unrestricted free agent.

Andre Iguodala - Unrestricted and would be a great addition.

Corey Brewer - Unrestricted free agent for the Nuggets SF.

J.J. Reddick - Unrestricted for the Bucks and he's what Boobie used to be. A nice shooter off the bench.

Chris Copeland - Restricted free agent SF from the Knicks. 26.5 PPG per 48.

Hopefully they can pick up a Nerlens Noel or Otto Porter in the draft or another player they have their eye on. At the end of the day, there's enough moves to be made for the Cavs to be a Playoff team next year. These players or a combination of these players plus others out their give the Cavs a lot to work with.
