My First Round Draft Picks

I have done my research and now I have decided on who I think the Cavs should pick in the first round of the NBA draft. My top pick is:

OTTO PORTER

The Cavs need a small forward and this kid has got Danny Granger, Tayshaun Prince potential. A nice wing for Irving and Waiters with good upside. He finishes well around the rim and he has a nice mid range jumper. His length also bothers shooters on the defensive end.

He averaged 16.2 PPG this season with the Hoyas and 7.5 RPG with a 7'1 wingspan. Here's a video:

We need a SF and we need to start moving Gee to a back up SF. Gee is inconsistent and we just need more punch at that position. We might even get a Luol Deng later if we play our cards right.

The next pick should be a Power Forward to back up T.T. Speights will probably leave and we need to pick up a PF in the draft or a free agent. This pick also assumes the Lakers will not make the Playoffs but it works either way.

The Cavs will probably try to trade up with the late pick and the second round picks. If so, they need to draft:

JAMES MCADOO

He goes hard to the basket and plays well in the post. He also has a nice mid range jumper. I think he would be a nice back up to T.T. He averaged 14.4 PPG and 7.3 RPG and he has a 7'1 wingspan. Here's a video:

The Cavs should also go after a Center. My first choice is Nikola Pekovic from Minnesota. My second choice is Tiago Splitter who will be an unrestricted free agent from the Spurs.

Here's how my line-up would look next year:

PG - Irving/Livingston

SG - Waiters/Ellington

SF - Porter/Gee

PF - T.T./McAdoo

C - Pekovic or Splitter/Zeller

This is a nice 10 man rotation. Either Porter develops into a Granger/Prince type player or you have Deng and dare I say Lebron James on the horizon and you could trade Gee and move Porter to a back up.
