Obviously, this mock-up is premature and a lot of these guys won't be on the roster next year, but taking a look at how the minutes might shake out right now could be helpful and figuring out which guys need to get moved. This was imagined as a mid-season(ish) lineup - I would be shocked to see Karasev start out playing 18 minutes a night or Bennett (to a lesser extent) playing in the high-20s of minutes right away. There's also some wishful thinking in here (like the idea that they'll significantly cut Andy's minutes in the interest of his health). Finally, I'm assuming that Bennett will spend some playing time at SF - I think that if he can get his weight down a bit, he could be a Shawn Marion-type SF (although since I haven't heard anyone else make that comparison, it's probably wrong and I'm skeptical he could ever be that good on defense anyways).
PG - K. Irving (34), D. Waiters (14)
SG - D. Waiters (20), W. Ellington (19), S. Karasev (9)
SF - C.J. Miles (14), A. Gee (13), A. Bennett (12), S. Karasev (9)
PF - T. Thompson (32), A. Bennett (16)
C - A. Varejao (24), T. Zeller (24)
After putting this together, it definitely feels like the SG/SF is a little crowded, and I'm guessing the Cavaliers move some of the players at those positions and acquire a backup PG (Myck Kabongo, anyone?) or a clear, starting SF. On the other hand, Mike Brown was always comfortable running certain positions by committee during his time in Cleveland, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him do so again. What are you guys' thoughts on how this roster would perform and where you see changes coming?
