The prospect of signing Bynum is drawing way to much knee jerk reaction, so I will put it this way.
If the Cavs give Bynum the 5 year Max (via S&T) I think we all agree that this is a terrible deal for the Cavs. Far to much risk and cost.
If the Cavs give Bynum a 1 year Vet minimum + 2 team options for the vet minimum I think we all agree that this is the best contract ever for the Cavs.
Somewhere between these two extremes lies a point where a good contract morphs into a bad contract. Where the risk is to great and the cap hit to crippling. Please post in the comments where you think that inflection point is in terms of years and $$ per years. A contract you sort of like but one that still makes you feel uneasy. I am going to think about this and post mine in a while as well.
