Anderson Varejao cleared for Cleveland Cavaliers training camp

USA TODAY Sports

Anderson Varejao is back!

The Cleveland Cavaliers have many injury questions entering the 2013-14 NBA season. Three players that figure to be keys to the Cavs' success are Andrew Bynum. Anthony Bennett, and Anderson VarejaoAccording to Terry Pluto, Varejao has been cleared for all basketball activities and will be good to go for the start of training camp.

"I hear that Anderson Varejao was been cleared for all basketball activities when the Cavs open training camp in a few weeks. Varejao missed 57 games last season because of a leg injury followed by blood clots."

That's certainly good to hear after Varejao missed the end of last season with an incredibly scary injury. As far as Bynum and Bennett are concerned, Pluto reports that they haven't officially been cleared yet -- but they both seem to be making progress. We aren't sure if Bynum will be ready to go at the very start of training camp, but there's no need to rush him back.

Anthony Bennett will almost certainly be ready for training camp and Pluto's report about the 1st overall pick is especially encouraging.

"The Cavs top draft pick, Bennett has been in town. He is working out, playing some half court basketball with his new teammates. He appears fully recovered from his shoulder surgery and is expected to be ready for the opening of camp. The other players have been impressed by Bennett's mid-range shooting touch and his quickness driving to the basket for a 6-foot-10, 250-pounder."

We still have several weeks before training camp starts, but I'm starting to get pretty excited about the upcoming NBA season. Hopefully all of the Cavs will be healthy.
