New to the site but just wanted to post some things that have irked me this past week from the Cavs organization.
After being season ticket holders with my brother for the past two years, the Cavs have sent me a package indicating it is already time to re-up my commitment to the "team" and "Wine and Gold United", the membership program that gives you "unprecedented exclusive access".
Last season, we committed to paying in 6 monthly installments of 133 dollars or 798 for the whole season for two tickets. However, in this letter, Wine and Gold United would love to "extend the opportunity" to pay for my tickets over twelve months for "only" 88 dollars for 12 months.
The letter was so poorly written and just disregarded the commitment that has already been made by numerous fans like myself. I was pissed beyond belief. They wanted me to pay over 200 dollars more for the same seats and "gave me the opportunity" to pay for the tickets over twelve months instead of six. The letter indicated it is time to be committed going forward.
First of all, there is no commitment that matters more to me other than winning. As of right now, our team is two games out of the playoffs in the Eastern conference.
In addition, we have had three straight horrendous years of "patience" and "process". Dan Gilbert can keep tweeting that we are bitter as a fan base and that we are early in this game, but truth of the matter is if his casinos promised him a certain amount of expectations and they did not reach it, he would do something about it, like expand and be in more than one city (oh wait). Also, we are almost halfway through a season in which we were promised to not be in the lottery.
The patience has worn thin. Anyone can promise to be good in three years. It's been that long. Don't give us, the fans, a continually terrible team and on top of that terrible marketing. Don't tell me to be committed when you have not done the same.
