Cleveland Cavaliers motor to Michigan to face the Detroit Pistons: 4 game win streak?

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Cavs haven't had a 4 game winning streak since 2010, is the 6th time the charm?

Who: Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons

When: 7:30 pm ET

Where: The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Where on my eyeballs: Fox Sports Ohio/ NBA League Pass

Music:

Have the Cavs saved their best play in the first half of the season for last?

Since firing Chris Grant, the Cavs are 3-0, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Communication is better, and chemistry seems better. Players are buying into what Mike Brown is selling, and the team looks a whole lot more like who we thought we would be seeing.

Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters aren't just playing together, they're excelling together. Having two players on the floor who are deadly ball handlers, passers, and shooters (and they have been) is a luxury  most teams don't have. Mistakes are down, decision making is up, and the Cavs two young guards have left their imprint on each of these last three games. With Tristan Thompson somewhat faltering, much maligned first overall pick Anthony Bennett has played easily the best ball of his career, and is starting to flash the talent that we saw in all of those videos from UNLV on draft night.

Tonight, Anderson Varejao will not play, and CJ Miles probably will not either. This provides an excellent opportunity for Henry Sims and Anthony Bennett to expand on the great games they turned in against the Kings last night, and on the fluky stat the two have in common:

Statistically, Sims and Bennett rank among the best rim defenders in the NBA, Sims (35%) and Bennett (45%) are allowing a surprisingly low number of makes. It is VERY IMPORTANT to note, that both of these numbers are on less than two attempts per game, so they fluctuate a whole heck of a lot. Just this week Bennett has gone from 42% to 48% to 45 with last night's game. It is worth watching however.

Detroit, having just fired coach Maurice Cheeks, has also won three in a row. Interior defense on Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe will be paramount, as well as making sure Josh Smith gets plenty of looks from three. Noone has shot as poorly, and at such a high volume, from behind the Arc as Smith does and has. Give him plenty of looks, and if his jumper beats you, so be it.

Fear the Sword's Fearless Prediction:

Josh Smith does something hilarious. Anthony Bennett is still cool. Cavs Win 119-112. Or they lose by like 30. I wish I had some idea.
